This is a movie starring R. Madhavan and Ritika Singh in lead roles. R. Madhavan plays the character of a tough, stern, boxing coach with a reputation of a rule-breaker. He is somewhat of a non-conformist in the world of boxing, he doesn't understand the politics, he is just an athlete and a sportsman. Madhavan shines as Adi, he looks stunning, just like a boxing coach would look and his acting is mind blowing. As a viewer, it is refreshing to watch him playing such a different role compared to what he has always played. The newcomer who essays the character of Madhi is like a breadth of fresh air, her acting is natural and effortless, she perfectly portrays the character of a talented yet rough around the edges kind of a boxer.
Acting, direction, everything is in place, except maybe the plot. I'm no movie expert but somehow it felt like the story didn't impress me as much as I thought it would after watching the first few minutes in the theater. One thing that this movie does perfectly is show that sports needs to be free of politics and some of the dialogues for Adi are absolutely brilliant. There is an athlete and champion in every nook and corner in the country yet because of dirty politics their talent never sees the light of the day. Overall it was a good movie, motivating in a lot of ways, a decent one-time watch.
