SA RE GA MA PA has been my favorite talent show since the time I am watching it because of the quality of its contestant, they come from different part of the country and represent different states of India which makes me proud of the amount of talent that is there in our country.
Also there are participants coming from Pakistan so there is a good mix of people coming from everywhere, no wonder Saregamapa is popular in many countries, it has a good reputation and it always lives up to it.
This season has some of the most talented contestant who have a very strong classical base, there is some genuine natural talent, and till now the show has been worth watching.I don't know where these participants will go after this show ends but what gives me a lot of satisfaction is that music is still not dying and there are people who want to perform classical songs and there are people willing to listen to them and as long as there is audience for such talents, music will never die.
HOST:This season the host is PURAB KOHLI and he is doing a pretty good job, he is new to hosting but I am sure he'll keep on improving as the show progresses. Though a host who has base or knowledge of music is always better for such musical shows because they can also give their comments on each participants performance based on their singing and also sing in between the show.
JUDGES:comprimise of VISHAL-SHEKHAR, SAJID-WAJID and DALER MEHANDI.Vishal and Shekhar have been there before on saregama and they are my favourite judges.I like their comments and observation.Sajid and Wajid also put in good comments and also provide entertainment though I don't think they have still reached that status in the hindi film industry where they can sit on the panel of judges of saregamapa but they are surely better than Himesh Reshamiya.Daler Mehandi is also for fun, his comments are allright though I would prefer if he speaks more in hindi than punjabi.
CONTESTANT:as I said earlier the contestant are brilliant, if they would not have been good i'ld not be writing this review.For any realiy show the participants have to be good otherwise nobody will watch the show and after seeing some very ordinary singing in Indian idol and other singing shows saregama is like a breath of fresh air.Whenever I watch these shows I get very excited if somebody can sing classical or has classical base or knowledge, they have that extra edge, the singing in hindi films has become so sub-standard and also the music has become so loud and repetative because nobody is willing to take risk with good singers and also their music but I hope with the contestant this time on, we can hope for some fresh talents to make a mark in the film industry, coz they are the people who can sing film songs as well as classical, which not many can do.All the 18 contestant are good this time, though four have been eliminated.Abhilasha Chellum, Ranjeet Rajwada, Sniti Mishra, Sugandha mishra, Rini Chandra, Dipanita, Mampee nair, Harnoor, Kamal khan, Abhisheik, Khurram, Shreyasi are some very talented contestant on the show and hope to see some great performances from them.Zee tv and saregamapa can be thanked for picking up such talented people on the show.Hope these people get a chance to sing in films.
Stand-out performances till now:TAPPA(in the audition)and Bhor bhaiye by Sugandha mishra, Jhoothe naina and mora saiyyan by Sniti mishra, All performances of Ranjeet rajwada, Baba Shabad by Harnoor, Sajda and Main tera bina by Kamal khan, Sajan by Khurram have been some brilliant performances on the show.
The only thing I don't like in the show is the drama, fights between judges, the participants talking about their personal lives, crying on the show, saregama does not need such drama to make their show popular, there are enough loyal fans of saregama who will watch the show even without this drama, so they should not make the show like a television serial there is enough drama in these serials to make the audience cry.Watch saregama singing superstar 2010 FRIDAY, SATURDAY 9:30 pm.
