Heya everyone! I am a student of SIES college currently. I was proud to be a part of the elite college...well...only for one day i.e the day when I got my admission. After that, I began to get a feeling that most of it is hype and not the truth. Okay, SIES is known for its lot of intelligent students and all, but the whole system really lacks organisation.

When I say this, people may argue with me, saying that lectures ARE organised and teachers do come regularly and teach. But having been through a number of experiences, not very good, I'm forced to complain. For one, the Identity Card. I was not able to fill the required form on a particular day owing to the absence of a receipt, so I was asked to fill it on a later day. Due to no prior intimation, I didn't carry the required receipt. Then, I didn't get the I-Card till the month of Jan, owing to which I had to face a lot of flak from the guard at the gate. How could I show him the card, when I hadn't received one? A lot of my friends had the same problem.

Then we had this concession in fees for girls and we all duly filled up the forms and submitted them. We were supposed to get a refund from the office, owing to this concession scheme. I went to the office to claim mine and Lo! and Behold!

The guy incharge tells me that there is no form in my name and that I won't get any refund. Well...after lot of arguing and everything...he literally told me get lost... I just lost about Rs. 400/- ...Three of my friends suffered the loss too.

We have to buy our journals from the laboratory counters. Well, this guy didn't have any change [thats what he said] and asked me collect my twenty later. I did go back, with my I-card and all...You guessed it right...He refused to give me back the change, he denied having ever seen me.... I again lost my money...

After all this, still there have been good moments at college with new friends and all. For one, the faculty is pretty regular and a good few number of teachers really know their subjects [with lots of exceptions]. Personally knowing the faculty also helps; SOME of the teachers I know personally; I consider it a privilege to know them. The laboratories are okay, though I would have preferred better equipment, considering that we pay a good sum for vocational courses.

Many may disagree with my views, I donot have any personal grudges. As for recommending SIES, I am neither strongly against it nor positive. If you are really sincere [and rich...maybe] ,then SIES may just be right for you.
