Visited this Theater just this Afternoon to watch Thani Oruvan. Well we usually happen to book online for theaters like Luxe or Sathyam or Inox or Mayajaal. But Since all the Bookings were Still full for this movie at all these Theaters, out of options we had to book the movie at this theater "S2 Theyagaraja Cinemas", which is actually the part of Sathyam Cinemas.
The Theater is Located in Adyar at LB Road, very close to Tidal park and at south End of Dr.Muthu Laxhmi road. The Theater has 2 Screens. Well I am not sure about seating capacity, but I am sure it has about 800 seating capacity. So the Theater is pretty big but the screen is not comparatively big, but is acceptable. The Theater has all the basic state of art amenities which the competitive theaters like Luxe has such as Comfort Seating, Parking and Food court and the theater is maintained very well.
So here you go with pros and cons-
1) Big Theater with Good Seating Capacity of about 800.
2) Independent theater with 2 Screens.
3) The seats are clean and partially Comfortable(See Cons).
4) The theater's ambiance is Clean enough.(see Cons).
5) Good Air conditioning and has clean Rest Room Facility.(See Cons).
6) The theater has Parking lot, both for bikes and cars with assisted parking.(See Cons)
7) Food Court available like usual for snacks like Pop corns, Drinks and others.(see Cons)
1) The Theater is big enough means, the Theater arena which includes the Screens and seating is big. BUT every thing else is all Cramped.
The Parking is Cramped, the Entry lobby is cramped and even the toilets are Cramped.(Read under)
2) The Seats are Comfortable but not to the fullest. Seats are not push back, so after watching half of any movie, one will surely get Back Ache. Because I got a back ache.
3) The screens is not that big when compared to the seating capacity. Well it was okay but was little awkward.
4) The theater Ambiance was clean enough but some parts where dirty like spilled Pop corns and so on, which is caused by the people visited. Those were not cleaned up too after a show gets over.!
5) Air Conditioning is good but is too much. I mean too chill. well below 20 or even 18 degrees. My hands became stiff like Ice. This will be uncomfortable to aged people who are not compatible to low temperatures. But if the same is maintained in summers, it will be good and enjoyable.
6) And As I already mentioned previously, the Parking space is cramped, can hold only about 10 cars and bike parking is worst too, very cramped. One will struggle to take out the bike from parking after the show.!
7) The Toilets are also very small, designed to hold only about 10 people. So people have to wait in line to use the toilets. And I only found out facility for urination.
8) The Food Courts is there, but again Cramped. So people have to wait in line to get their orders. Normally, one might take about 10 minutes to get his pop corn.
Verdict -
Overall, the theater is good enough to watch movies because of good quality screen and sound system, but is bad due to Cramped space at parking, toilets and food courts.
And the Theater is good for people staying at Adyar. Not for all.
