To all those unfortunate ones who have to land up in the Russsian embassy at Delhi. Just watch out . This is my story .

I landed up there on the 10th Of Decmber for a Visa to attend a international conference at Smolensk.I had with me my passport , return tickets ,hotel accomodation and invitation letter to attend the conference.

On the morning ,at around 8.30 am I was stupid enough to reach the Embassy.While all other Embassies were gearing up for the work ahead there was not even a stray dog near the great Russian Embassy.

Time went by and it was soon 10.00 am. and still no sign of any official around. I was getting anxious and had struck up a conversation with the Security Official as to when it will open and somebody would show up . He kept reassuring me that atleast by 10.30 someone would there.

By that time I could see some movement around .Two burly looking Russians were moving around inside the Embassy(Sorry to say they were Dirty, rather filthy and looked drunk) Then two more characters joined in (a couple) who went inside and the door was soon locked .

May I remind you that all this time I was standing outside the strong huge gates of the Embassy watching helplessly..The security would never let me in to meet the Officer.Soon at around 11.00 when all my patience was lost up came the great person for whom the Security was waiting for, a man named KESRI - an agent who can move around in the Embassy as if it was his forefather`s property .The moment he came everything started happening outside.

I was asked to meet him and as I met him three four people came from nowhere and were pleading their case as if he was the Chancellor himself. The security was obviously a servant of his empire and was very happy to open the doors for this gentleman .Soon he was allowed in and we mere mortals were asked to wait outside .

He soon came back to me within 10 mins and enquired specifically about the tickets clearing stating that it would cost me 30,000 for to and fro. To my misfortune I had to inform him that I already had the tickets...... That finished everything ....any hope of me boarding the flight.

Try as much Kesri sir would not listen to me and neither the security would open the doors .Finally the great Kesribhai relented and when the Embassy was to close at around 2.00 pm they allowed me inside to meet the Official at around 1.45 pm. I knew everything was lost but still tried bravely to explain to the officer but it was like putting water on the stone. He could never understand English and I didn`t know Russsian .All this time the agent was standing near me .Finally I left the Office emptyhanded .

Well the point I want to make is I did learn many things from this incident .

The most important is that never trust a Russian.They are the most lazy and Corrupt peoPle around. A few litre of whisky and vodka and these people wEre eating out of this KESRI`s(aboslutely third rate goonda) hands.

And Kesri is the best and only agent if you want to go to Russia.He will get you Visas and also tickets of Aeroflot because he is the only one in Delhi .(Just remember I paid only Rs.25,000 to my agent in Ahmedabad for which he was asking 30,000/-) Without his help don`t even think of getting inside the embassy.
