Cinematography:

Sundeep Kishan has earned a name of his own with some different movies like 'Venkatadri Express'. But recently his movies have not performed well at the box-office. Hence he took the route of doing remakes to come back on the path of the success.

“Run” is his attempt to bounce back. Will his plan work out?

Story:

Sanju ( Sundeep Kishan) , an Engineering graduate, loses his job at a big company. As he is jobless, his lover Ammu’s ( Anisha) father refuses their marriage. He borrows money from Vaddi Raja ( Bobby Simhaa) to resolve some family issues.

On one hand there is issue of repaying the loan to the goon, the other hand family problems and also there is an issue of love. He lands in a situation where all these need to be solved by evening in a single day. With little time left, he is on constant run.

Artistes’ Performances:

Sundeep Kishan has done a decent job. But there is nothing much for him to perform. Anisha Ambrose is okay.

Tamil actor Bobby Simha as the main villain is good. Brahmaji as the Police officer tries to provide some comedy. Praveen and Madhunandan are neat. Kasi Vishwanath's acting is irritating.

Technical Excellence:

The film is shot with best technical and production values. Cinematography by Rajasekhar is first rate. The pace of the movie ( editing) is damn slow. As far as the music is concerned, two songs are pick of the lot. Dialogues are apt to the story.

Highlights:

Some twists and turns

Visuals

Drawback:

Boring moments

Drags on

Turns predictable after sometime

Analysis:

Although Sundeep Kishan starrer “Run” is remake of a Tamil movie called “Neram”, the movie’s storyline and narrative style has no novelty.

In recent times, films like “Swamy Ra Ra” and “Bhale Manchi Roju” released with similar style of themes and narration. While they were made with full entertainment, Run lacks comedy.

There are good times and there are bad times, we don't know how time plays with us. The movie carries this theme. A film that has such clever lines is made in boring way.

Movie starts off on promising note. A thief steals money from Sundeep Kishan and he runs after him and catches him only to find that another thief coming to snatch it away. Now Sundeep is left with only one rupee and is stranded on the road.

On the other hand, his girlfriend who ran away from her home to meet him is also stranded on the road as her chain is snatched by a thief. Till here, the narration is neat and gripping. Post this, it turns into a boring affair.

All situations happen according to the convenience of the writer and director. Despite being in mess, hero doesn't do anything but sit on the road, or waste time, as if  he is waiting for good times come automatically though he has deadline of repaying the money by the evening.

On the other hand, the character of heroine's father approaching police officer and treating an S.I. like a comedian is hard to believe. The name and the characterization of Madhapur SI played by Brahmaji is idiotic.

The hero chases a thief and falls on sand, and spends his time throughout the day on roads, yet he looks clean with neat makeup, ironed clothes. By this one can understand how non-serious the movie is.

In films like these where story happens in a single day, screenplay should be very tight, or it spoils the drama. Run suffers from bad writing. The comedy doesn't make us laughs. Many scenes drag on and on.

Posani Krishna Murali's entry in the end is another example of lazy writing. There certainly are some good moments, the way in which all threads conclude in the end is appreciable. All in all, Run has only few good moments, rest of the drama is too boring.
