Thunder heart dudes, owners of this metal bird. Am one of proud owner of thunderbird twin spark. It is one of my life essential daily need source just like air. Water , food. Without that even for a day am in hell (while in service). About me am karthik bhat from mangalore. Since from childhood am a great fan of en filed bike thumps. After all market survey i liked to buy thunder bird twin spark rather that sporty bikes.
Initially i fell tbts thump little light i planned to change orinal silencer with rocket. But original silencer sexiness will not be there , therefore dropped that plan.
Dudes i have covered 12000km in 10 months with many cruisings. I trail rode all market bikes like unicorn/p180/p200/fz/karizma etc all initial pick up sporty vehicles, but they all fit for city ride not for long cruisings. P200 & fz crushed my nut while in cruising even though i rode for 10km. No other bike in Indian market gives comfort ness like tbts in long cruisings. My one of best cruise which i have covered is mangalore to goa almost 1100km. I this cruising i have rode my bird in 100-120km speed with maximum torque. Dudes in this speed also bikes do not loose road grip. Look wise it just like harley if you put mag wheel. The chrome of the bike shines superb if washed & polished with wax.
Mileage is superb guys. I normally get 50 km/ltrs with economical speed.( if driving little harsh above 60km/hr 45-47km/lts , this mileage with unsaturated engine.) In long ride if speed 70 or 120 bike gives you 50km/lts (without much gear changing). I got 50km/ltrs in all my cruisings. I prefer normal petrol for local riding & power petrol for long cruising (as it gives smoothness to engine at higher rpm).
Maintenance wise guys its not maintenance free like any other bike. Spare 2-3 hrs for washing vehicle in week for good chrome condition. Lubricate if necesary as prescribed in manual. Timely engine oil change is must. (please check your service agent replacing engine oil with right grade). Company recommends for every 6000 km but better to change with every 3000 km if you are cruising. I use to do same.
