I bought Classic Chrome 500 2 months back(day of launch) and its LEAKING from Day1.I think they still want to sell poor quality bikes taking advantage of monopoly.dont buy blindly beacuse of the fad

Can you believe, in today’s world of such technological/automobile advancements('21st century), we are still being sold a bike worth 1.6 lakh+ which is leaking for the first day itself and continues for 2+ months already?

I have a been a passionate follower of Royal Enfield/Bullet legacy and after 20 years of following this passion, I bought the Royal Enfield Classic 500 Chrome, arguably the top-most model in your offerings and one of the costliest bikes made in India.

However, it was Shocking to see that on the first day itself, the bike was leaking oil from bottom(guess sits the oil chamber), tried to tighten the screws but it didn’t stop. Called up the dealership, they very so casual about this complaint about their most premium product as if they almost were expecting such problems to happen. They said wait for 1 month, (i.e. let it leak) and show it during first service.

Now, the fateful day of first service arrived and after I told about this sole issue that they need to fix, they completed the service, and when I asked them if they have fixed the leakage, they casually told me yes they have ‘tightened the nuts’. I cross verified and emphasized that it’s not simple issue and I have already tried tightening at my end. Then they promised to look again and told me that they have replaced an ‘O-ring’ etc. Taking their word, I got the delivery of the bike after service. But to my utter shock, it was still leaking the next morning. After a lot of follow-up, they agreed to fix the issue and I again sent the bike to them, this time they said the leakage is from the ‘Oil-glass-hole’(which shows the oil level) and confirmed they have fixed the leakage. But then next day, again I saw leakage. Now after 2 months of harrowing experience, I don’t know where to go to?

  1. Is there any kind of pre-delivery inspection that happens on RE products? If yes, why was this leakage not detected?

  2. Why is the service quality so poor that even after first service and again re-fixing they are either not able to understand the problem or do not know how to fix it?

I bought the bike from Royal Enfield showroom, Erragada, Hyderabad
