Royal Enfield has been my choice for biking because of its legacy in India.  I had bought my first Royal Enfield at the age of 24-25 a 1962 Royal Enfield G2 somewhere in 2002 and since then it stayed with me till 2014, meanwhile I have changed 6-7 bikes of which new ones were 2008 the last CI unit and 2013 Royal Enfield Electra twin spark.

The above review is all about the Twin Spark engine.  To begin with I really do not understand the logic  as to what made the Eicher to choose that utterly nonsense engine in the first place? well they can challenge my feedback with a strong statement as they have a sound R&D team which found it to be suitable and blah . blah but let me say that all that is crap, sheer nonsense.  The Twin Spark is no good in any regards for the bike or to the Indian conditions.  I am pretty sure the company must have got this bitter truth in the initial days of its launch however they still continue this stupid bikes.

I have bought a RE Electra from Jayshree Automobiles, Himayatnagar, Hyderabad, Telangana in 2013(Silver Color) the dealership was awesome and courteous and have delivered the bike of my choice within 15 days of  cash booking.

Initial days were all happiest because of blind love for the bike which turned bitter very soon.  The first issue started with the front disc brake, I realized that the brake on the bike is just make it a disc brake fitted bike but the mechanism or the pads, master is all not suitable for the bike.  The disc always has some side which rubs with the pads, in spite of several complaints it has never be sough ted out by the RE service.

Front wheel bearings are the worst, they tend to jam every 2000-3000 KMS in spite of they being consealed, I have tried two sets in the authorized service centers later bought NRB from a spare part shop and then it got settled.

Chain sprocket is the best for its cheap standards on the bike.  I have lost the first chain sprocket wheel within first 5000 kms, those teethes literally broke off where as a normal chain sprocket should last for at least 20000-25000 kms.

Battery box is just a joke on the bike, battery acid leaks on the clutch cover side and spoils the shine and makes it look constipated.  Belt arrangement is such a pain and I would love to talk to the engineering department on that, how the hell would an individual clip the belt behind the battery case where the fingers cant even reach?

Suspension is like a bull ride in Texas ring, such a waste of technology in the name of gas shock absorbs.  Front oil seal tend to leak the moment the bike takes a hit in six inches pot hole also.

Today the RE business is going multiple numbers just because of the innocent people who are in love with the so called bike'BULLET' they are not aware of the fact that the bike now is not the one which used to come till 80's, no efficiency, poor comfort, ride quality is pathetic, handling is like dragging a dead dog.

Had to sell the bike within a year riding not more than 20-25 thousand kms.  I have decided to never look back to this brand RE whatsoever they have to offer.  I feel RE has to take thing seriously to live up to their past legacy of BULLET, just by focusing on number will not help since number may fall soon if people get to have another quality ride somewhere.
