In the movie, Rajesh Khanna tells a person, some people die making others happy in the process, and others die making people unhappy, in the same situation. The movie seems a laugh riot. After the hero's stint, as a school teacher, and exchange of worldly wisdom, with his young wards, the man seems to be a young boy, also wanting to be a hero, and he convinces others, strongly, also.
There is a nice man, who suffers a disability, and he would gladly see the demise of the hero. The hero tells himself and the man, how noble they both are. It appears, Rajesh Khanna accompanies the other young man's parents on pilgrimage, all over India, and takes care of them, when they are visually impaired. At Rameswaram, it appears he is an Avatar, when he resists himself from entering the temple, saying that God should never have made him see such days. Sri. Vishnu's God is indeed Shiva. Sri. Rama did ask the Goddess to visit Rameswaram, but he himself did not go there.
Like I mentioned, after his interactions with his students, the idea of tragedy seems to be his personal inclination. It is thrown out with the bath water. Don't miss this movie. It is one of the best movies of Rajesh Khanna.
