This is to bring into your notice that there is always a difference Say and work. This is regarding ROTARY BLOOD BANK, Delhi. After hearing a good name of Rotary Group we, as an NGO appraoched Rotary Blood Bank to organise a Blood Camp. It was very cooperative start, very enthusiastic that we started thinking that it is a very good organisation and what we heard from local is not true about Rotary.
We were told that the Donor Card can be used for blood relations and if we want to give blood unit to some needy person, we can donate 50% of the donated unit to them e.g. if we have donated 100 units then we can give 50 units to needy person. We organised the camp successfully. And when the first came of need came and that too was of blood relations - a female patient required 3 units of blood and 5 members of her joint family donated blood in the same Blood Camp organised with Rotary. Rotary official refused to give the blood.
They told them to purchase the blood from Rotary which will cost Rs. 1200/-. Even his husband Donor card was not given any value. Later when I contacted Rotary Officials they told me that according to rule we as an organisation can only give 3% of the donated unit to needy and not 50%. That simply means that this organisation is running for it's own profit not for the social cause. They are only meant to fool people so that they can sell their blood units and earn money. They are not giving blood to blood relations so what more we can expect from them.
So friends, Never donate for Rotary. Donate with AIIMS or other organisation.
