I stayed at this place from 11 Dec for 2 days and checked out one day earlier than my planned stay of 3 days.
I traveled with my wife and 3 yrs old daughter. The place has amazing reviews on Tripadvisor so visited this place but seems its NOT MEANT for below category of travelers:
Family with young kids who would have various food related needs
People who do not have own vehicle
People who like valley view
People who would like to have variety of veg / non veg food
People who would look for certain indoor / outdoor activities
People who like to stay awake late like 10 pm.
People who like quiet surroundings-the place is next to a road and every time buses pass honking
People who have allergy to damp rooms
Indians who know what good Indian cuisine consists of
We visited this place and were given a room which had damp wall, though we were shifted to a different room next day. The owners of the property manage everything themselves so the food served has minimal or no variety.
Breakfast leftovers are used for dinner and dinner leftovers are used for breakfast. No lunch is served here. Owner is just running this place to make money.
Second day morning I asked for 1/4th cup of milk to prepare protein shake for the baby and they said we dont have it, though they were serving tea using milk to other foreign guests. I felt bad and decided to move out immediately for my next destination Varkala.
Also the charge for the room is Rs 3000/- per day which is much higher(actually double) than what other property owners are charging in Munnar. The home stay is next to road so you hear buses honking every time.
Would not suggest the place to anyone. I had a talk with other foreign travellers who stayed there and they also were not happy with the value for money wrt place & food etc. My personal view is that its a place where owners are living their normal day to day life and they expect to just follow the same without any effort for the comfort of travellers and mint money.
The innocent foreign travellers who dont know much about India, are fooled by the owners of this property and Indian travellers are not welcomed at all by them as they what typical meaning of "atithi devo bhava".
