........ After reading the two books by the guru, consultant, expert .. (and much more) Arindam Chaudhuri, I really got inspired to see this film... totally directed and produced and written (and much more) by AC!!
And one thing I surely realised that even if the film wasn't what was expected out of it..(most films in bollywood are that way, anyway), but this man knows what the public wants.
Take for example his first book Count Your Chickens... (one of my favourites) though, touted as a management cum self help book, was not as difficult to understand for a non management guy ( I am a management whizkid though). My sis, my cousin and even my mom read it in one go and could also make sense out of it. This movie is absolutely similar. The kids enjoyed it the most and the proportion in which people in my family liked it was ascending, i.e., the younger one likes it more than the older one... so the film, like his book, is ''POSITIONED WELL'.. for the masses and for the biggest influencers of the family.. the kids and the teenagers!!
Serious movie goers can find faults in the story (including its resemblence to JJWS) I think the 'TG' factor has been handled well. After all he is a management consultant himself.
Now so much has been written about the film on this site .. the story etc. my view focuses on the product development and positioning part of it.
And I surely bet that this film is a very convincing example of the formula:
''GP+GM=HF'' (good product + good marketing = hit film)
