I was admitted to rockland three times.

First was with I was diagnozed with minor stomach problem

Second when I got pre-abortive pains in the 6th month of my pregnancy

Third when I gave birth to a still-born.

Seems awkward for me to write about something so personal, but I am deeply hurt by the way the hospital staff was behaving the third time.

The doctor, Ms. Asha Sharma, was more towards getting me operated when I was half way thru the delivery. No medical care was given to me while I was waiting to go in the OT. Nobody was present with me and no one from my family was allowed to sit with me either.

The nurses were untrained, specially when the person in question is a first time mother.

It scares to see that no one knows anything about the porcess.

In my case, I was more well-aware of the procedures and during the entire pregnancy of 8 months, there was no single time, I was told by the doctor to undergo tests. I did it all by myself and I am proud of the fact that I was knowledgable.

After the incident - Asha Sharma had to tell my mom, that your daughter is very brave.

I know how was it. It was all natural and God forbid, had there been any complications, the OT was not having any machinery that could help me out. Not even a heart monitoring machine.

The assistant doctor was "kind" enough to tell me to behave during the delivery. I think she is unmarried and the curse is taken out on the patients who need help. Infact, she needs some therapy. I recall all of it and each time I feel like I wish I had enough power to ask these doctors to quit practicing.

Ms Anita Malhotra, the assistant doctor, with Ms Asha Sharma, I would like to convey and tell her that she needs to be more well- mannered when it comes to delivering babies.

And then there is one Dr.Pankajat the reception, who is always there are the reception. I have not seen a doctor who is a receptionist. This guy has never spoken to any of the clients coming there with a smiling face. I had been there thrice and NO, none of the times. He has been given the responsibility of making wrong bills, billing for the items which are not used, and then fight with the person who is asking for the bills to be corrected. I remember once he said "Anyways it is a cashless transaction, nothing is going from your pocket, why are you taking the hassels"? God Forbid, I would like to tell this to VIPUL Medcorp whose service I was availing. Nonetheless, I got the bill corrected and was given strange looks by him till the time me and my husband got out of the hospital.

After the entire mishap, when I had to take a cretificate for leave from Mrs. Asha Sharma, I had sent my husband to get it. He had his own story to tell. Everybody knows that a delivery in the 8th month is the SAME as the one happening in the 9th month, and it a VERY WELL KNOWN fact that at least 2months of rest is required. Asha Sharma, knowing that I was working, goes on to ask my husbad "So, how many days of rest should I write?" My husband being totally dependent on the doc (unlike me) asked her to write what SHE thinks would be the best, later to see that she had written mere 15 days of bed rest. Horrible and horryfying to someone who would not have known, or somebody who would have been an orphan would go on her advice. And I, owe my moms experience, had taken full 2.5 months to recover and walk on my own.

ANd once when I went for a check-up, she had to go and attend the strike being held by doctors in AIIMS for the anti-reservation system. She not being less than 50, needed to be a part of the strike and someone who is not yet born needed no care??

I will always say that rockland is a certified hotel more than an hospital and the ppl working there are running business rather than serving humanity. No causes, no sympathy, pure money making machine and ruthless and heartless male and female staff.
