Let me describe some of the professors who have made Rizvi what it is today….
Prof Kalim Khan(In-charge Director): Leadership is an elusive quality-- hard to define, difficult to create but one knows it when one sees it. Prof Kalim Khan is a social inventor & a leader in building teams that successfully addresses human needs & also takes initiative to change educational outlook. He is the kind of professor who is disgustingly sweet. He wishes everyone a happy this or that (This is no exaggeration). And it’s a known fact throughout Mumbai that the astonishing success of Rizvi in recent years totally belongs to Prof Kalim Khan….
Prof Cyrus Gonda: Wow, what a man!!!……This lovely human being knows everything of everything (Literally!!!). I believe that he is perhaps, the only one who knows the date when zero was invented. He reads at least three books daily (or six if he is awake) on some topic that is very interesting to him. It could be on the effect of Cyber Crimes in India, effect of JIT techniques on Indian companies or the effect of planet's positions on house plants (Seriously…He can talk on any subject)…
Prof Sonali Tipre: This mystifying innovative professor, a member of the Rizvi family, is an interesting human being. Even though she is a professor of ‘Accounts’; she can tactfully manage & handle the future CEO’s of this nation with grace & elegance. Apart from teaching & managing her students, she also occasionally posts liquid oxygen joke & some jokes about her students & their girl friends. When serious, she will wonder why do we have only 24 hours in a day or why are there only 6500 books in our college library.
Prof N Sequira: This guy has an opinion on everything, from tiger's mating calls to organizational behavior. And most of the time his opinions are piquant and non-controversial. To say Prof Sequira hasn’t earned his stardom amongst the students is like saying Bill Gates “got lucky'' with Microsoft.
Of course, I haven't included other admirable professors such as Prof Ganachari, Prof Chester, Prof Tabrez, Prof Kanvinde and others….Maybe some other time.
Guest lectures & Seminars are a regular event in the campus delivered by renowned associates of the business community in their area of proficiency. Apart from these guest lectures & seminars; we also have other events organized by the Institute. Acumen (The Annual Case Study competition), Saksham (Corporate Seminars & Panel Discussions), Impression (The Annual HR conference) and Post Budget Analysis by K.R Choksey are some of the events organized to facilitate students.
