Ripley's Believe it or Not is hosted on TBS network in the US. The Shows producers claim that everything you see is real without fancy set designs or actors. The Host for the TV series is Dean Cain a well known star of TV and film, most recognized from staring as Clark Kent/SuperMan in the TV series Lois and Clark the New Adventures of Superman.

The show has a mysterious feel about it and is most of the time filmed in darkness or shadowy places. Of course this adds to the suspense that producers want the viewing audience to feel. On the shows web site you can even submit a story for a possible feature on an up coming show.

Some History; Believe it or not

Robert Leroy Ripley was well known in his days as searching for the mysterious and unbelievable. He started the craze in 1913 with a contest which generated over 2 million entries. He was a cartoonist for the New York Globe which began the birth of Ripley's Believe it or Not.

In 1930 he hosted a radio show simply called ''Believe it or Not'' that aired to millions of listeners each week.

The first museum was opened in 1933 and he died in 1949 from a heart attack.

The legend was passed down through generations with Musuems opening all over the country.

Before the show that airs currently on TBS, Jack Palance hosted a TV version of Ripley's Believe it or Not from 1982 - 1986. I still have seen reruns of this version on networks such as Nick At Night.

If you like the TV show you would love touring one of Ripley's Believe it or Not Museums. I have only been to one located in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, but it is an experience that you want to see. The amazing things that you see happening in front of your eyes when you know it's impossible will have you questioning your sanity.

A quote from the Museum's Pamphlet reads If you have an interest in the strange and unusual, odd, or just plain weird then you have come to the right place.
