Cheating in the Name of Promotional Subscription

Hi,


After receiving lots of promotional offers on subscription of "Right Choice" magazine, I subscribed it on 19-Jan-2014. I paid Rs. 399 using my credit card for 3-months subscription & received a Big Bazaar voucher of Rs. 500 as promotional offer. They were quick in delivering the issues and gift voucher as well. Till here, everything seemed fine.


But on 09-Mar-2014, My credit card was debited automatically for Rs. 399 again. I called my bank to inquire about it. Bank told me that the this vendor "whichrightchoice" comes in the recurring category and will debit the amount without informing or asking to me. I was surprised to know this, because at the time of subscription, there was no such condition mentioned. Even in their emails or phone calls, there was no such condition (even in the fine-print). Today(10-Mar-2014), I called them to cancel the transaction, terminate my subscription and credit back the amount. This is a clear case of cheating people.


For the cost of magazine, I don't think that the magazine is worth of Rs. 200 per month. There is a better & cheaper magazine available in the market from "Consumer Voice (https://consumer-voice.org/)."
