I own a Ridaex RE-1420 42 Inch Android TV.


Things wrong with this product are following:


1.RAM mentioned on this website states 1GB, in reality, it is only 481MB.


2.The Android version mentioned here is an open source and the product is not certified by Google, plus its outdated(Android TV version 4.4.4) compared to latest OS Android TV version Marshmellow 6.0.0(as Sony Android TVs not only has version 6 but about to launch Noughat soon).

3.Sometimes TV plays the volume even after you put it to mute or plays the same level of sound even after reducing volume to zero.


4.As the Android version is outdated apps like Amazon Prime and Hotstar are optimized for this version, most of the apps for that matter are not available for this TV, e.g. Apple Music - Google Play Music.


5.All apps like Netflix and Youtube crashes continuously as 481 MB RAM and older version of Android cannot handle the load(disclaimer: Internet is not an issue as I use 40 MBPS connection at home and if I use Amazon Firestick then it works buttery smooth, but that again a 4k investment apart from this SMART TV) - what am I supposed to do with a smart TV if it does not play Netflix or any other streaming service for that matter.


6.Built quality is average and there is nothing much to boast about, same goes with sound - loud but not clear - average.


7.The IPS panel is also average performs better than other TVs but again nothing compared to big 3s like Sony, Samsung, and LG.


-That was something to the product, let's talk about the aftersales:


1.Delivery was delayed by 8 days(they told me 3 dates after the committed date, on every date I took time off from my work to receive the TV, at last after posting a review about delivery the CEO himself delivered it on the next day - Kudos to commitment - he removed my comment - no offence on that).


2.No Documentation was provided with the TV - No purchase receipt, no delivery receipt, no warranty card! was told that it will be emailed, 20 days after that commitment of CEO and after a number of phone calls n emails I have none of these.


3.I reviewed TV for 2 days asked for the help from the technical team of Gotmatter to resolve the issues regarding the TV or a replacement, I got promises only and no action, hence on third day I asked them to pick the TV and refund the amount - THEN CEO calls me and says he will resolve the issue himself - I was at office at that time - I trusted him and took a day off and went home, CEO said he will call me back in half hour, after waiting for 5 hours he did not call or pick my calls neither his technical team, I sent a mail seeking refund - As clearly mentioned on this site - refund will be given if I request a return in three days.


4.One whole week they did not process my request saying it is on hold.


5.After so many calls support team told me that it will be scheduled on Monday, I asked for written confirmation they hang up, did not pick my calls after that.


6.I took a day off from work as I was told TV will be picked up on a particular day.


7.The pick up did not happen, I called Gotmatter number of times including CEO nobody responds, I put review on the same page saying what is it- CEO gets offended and calls me saying I won't get a refund as I did not intimate them in three days time - I provided him the ticket number call recording and copy of the email.


8.Next day CEO takes down my review from the page, calls me and rudely tells me that they don't intend to give me refund as I posted bad review about their product and told them that I will go to consumer forum if request does not process in time - he hangs up before I could say anything - none of them would pick my call from that onwards!


IF YOU HAVE A BAD PRODUCT RIDAEX - THEN OWN IT, OWN YOUR MISTAKE, RECTIFY THE PROBLEMS YOU WILL GO AHEAD!


JUST DONT FORCE PEOPLE TO BUY THE PRODUCT BY GIVING SPONSORED STORIES TO NEWSPAPERS AND COMMENTING ON THE SAME ARTICLE BOASTING ABOUT THE PRODUCT.
