Hi,

I had visited the Richfeel clinic in Powai few months ago as I was suffering from hair loss and had undergone homeopathic treatment for 3 years before at Dr Batras which helped stabilize the hair loss somewhat but needed a solution which was permanent and long lasting as I wasn't fully convinced by Batra's despite their claims that my hairfall was "stable" but that's another story.

So anyway I along with my mom had visited in the month of January where they had the free consultation(usually one needs to pay some 900 Rs as consultation charges) due to the new years time and after waiting for sometime I was led into a doctors cabin. The doctor had a form or a checklist and he asked questions related to that checklist and ticked somethings on that form.

After that he showed magnified images of my scalp with some camera and pointed out that my hair is thinning. When my mom asked the doctor that "couldn't the small hair sprouting be actually new hair?", the doctor said that "no that's the hair thinning and becoming smaller" and as the doctor was saying that, I couldn't help but feel some degree of hesitation in the so called "doctors" mind.

After the examination of my hair and collecting my hair samples, the doctor told me I was in the phase 3 stage or something(don't remember which stage exactly) in my baldness. When I had inquired about the possibility of hair transplant, the doctor replied that the transplant wouldn't be possible as that would involve killing the existing hair roots on my scalp. Although the doctor did mention that the transplant would be possible on the temple area of the scalp, he also mentioned that even after transplant, hair would be thinning on other areas of the scalp and so he suggested the "Anagrow" treatment which he claimed would slow down the hair thinning.

So after that, one of the receptionists then takes me and my mom to another cabin and there she explains the breakdown of this Anagrow treatment including the costs, the medicines, including one roller with spikes which you need to move over your scalp as part of the home care regimen. And then she takes out a huge black file which is apparently, a list of all the patient testimonials who have undertaken the Anagrow treatment and then she claims "we have clients and patients visiting us from places like Hiranandani and Nahar".

I have gone through all reviews on mouthshut.com, and there are not many positive reviews of this Anagrow treatment on here. So the question obviously arises: Why aren't all those genuine patient testimonials which are praising Anagrow displayed on a neutral site such as MS?

Moving on, she said the cost for the anagrow treatment which includes all the pills, medicines, shampoos etc would come to 80, 000 approx but as it was the new year time, they were offering a huge discount and so the price would come down to 54K.

So then me and my mom decided to wait for a while and tell them about our decision when we were supposed to come to collect the hair reports next week(which was the next Saturday).

That morning, when I was supposed to go to Richfeel to collect my reports, I decided to do some little research about Richfeel and Anagrow, I come across mouthshut.com and BANG!

And after reading all reviews, including the positive/negative reviews, I decided not to collect those reports and feel fortunate that I haven't wasted my 54K here. There are very very few reviews on MS which specifically say that "yes Anagrow was successful" If anything, most of the reviews on here say that after they started Anagrow, they've actually lost more hair!

Some 2-3 days before as I was supposed to collect my reports, the receptionist called me on my phone and set the appointment to which I never went. But they still keep calling me almost every month!

After already undergoing 3 years homeopathic treatment for hair loss at Dr Batras, I was looking for something different. But then after research, it seems that Richfeel is also homeopathic which doesn't make sense to go there and get lootoed even more.

The intentions of this place was quite obvious, even despite me not picking up their calls and they sending their mails(which get stored in my spam folder)

Even at Batras, even though I had gone for treatment for 3 years over there, the doctor there claimed that "I have been undergoing treatment only for 2 years and that I should continue for atleast 3-4 years". The doctor was saying this despite the fact that he was sitting in front of his computer with all my records and information in his software!

So let's come to the bigger question: Is there any treatment for Male Pattern Baldness?

Now I am no medical practitioner but my father suggested me a certain Dr Mishra in Hiranandani hospital and in the month of March, I visited his clinic and the main component for healthy hair and skin is, you've guessed it: Protein!

Also along with a high intake of protein, he also suggested using the following medicines:

1) "Hair4U" lotion 5% 1 ml in day and night daily

2) Keraglo Men vitamin tablets

3) Finasteride 1mg tablets from the company "Finax"

This was used by me for a period of 2 months and I can attest and claim that this has definitely shown me greater results than either Richfeel or Dr Batras have shown me in 3 years!

Had I taken this proper treatment some 3-4 years ago, my hair would have been in a better situation which was my mistake.

I hope others won't repeat the same mistake which I did and take treatments which are proper, authentic and FDA approved.

There is no evidence that Anagrow is effective, if anything the advertising of Anagrow is actually banned and stem cell treatment is banned in the United States.

Also there have been lots of fears over the use of finasteride which is primarily responsible for the blocking of the 5 alpha reductase enzyme(which converts testosterone to di-hydro-testerone, the main hormone responsible for hair loss in males)

I have been taking the finasteride tablets daily and there have been absolutely no side effects. Certainly not the exaggerated fears which we've read on the internet. And let's not forget, Finax is FDA approved and proven, unlike some quack like Anagrow.

If anything, Finax has actually helped in growth of new hair. Also regarding shampooing, when I was taking treatment at Batras I used to shampoo 3 times a week but now even if I just shampoo once a week, my hair looks full.

So to recap in short: if one wants to go  for proper treatments, go for treatments which are proven, universally accepted and provided by proper doctors.

Hope this is helpful.
