Rhapsody is the bar (pub ?) at the Courtyard Marriott in Chennai. We made a very brief visit recently. The first thing you notice isthat the music is a bit loud though most patrons did not seem to notice.
A friendly young man called Veera took our order and suggested a cocktail called “Cosmopolitan”.
Since he seemed such a nice and guy we decided to go with his advice and ordered the cocktail - a combination of vodka, cranberry juice, lime and triple sec. The twist came when Veera pulled out a cigarette
lighter and lightly burnt a piece of sathukudi skin. We were wondering what he was up to and then saw that it went into the drink as the final ingredient. The end result was pretty good.
The next cocktail we tried was called “Tropical Willey”, made with vodka, pineapple juice and grenadine - good, but not quite as nice as the first one. We ordered another Cosmopolitan to round off the session.We walked across the lobby to the Paprika café, where an excellent crumb fried chicken followed by coconut crunch for dessert was the perfect follow up to the Cosmopolitan cocktail.Prices are five star but well worth an occasional visit.
