A friend of mine highly recommended me this Revlon Colorstay formula to me. I was planning to purchase the Makeup For Ever foundation but decided to give this a shot. I manage to get this on sale for 2 for 1 at the drugstore and eagerly tried it out.
I had to blend two shades to get a match for my skin tone, which wasn't a big deal. The oily formula dries pretty quick so you had to work pretty fast. What I did was apply it in sections and blend out like crazy. The scent reminded me of an old lady but is fades as it dries. The coverage was build, which is a plus. I thought I had found my foundation. I was sadly mistaken.
When I started to wear it daily, I started to get these seed-like pimples. I thought it was because I wasn't cleansing well so I switch to an apricot kernel oil to remove the foundation then followed it up with my regular cleanser. Gradually my skin gotten worse until I couldn't touch my face. Apparently my skin reacted to this foundation and my skin broke out in cystic and nodular acne. I had to stop using it and basically baby my skin back to normal. It took about 3 months before my skin returned to normal.
I am not saying that this is a bad foundation, but if you have sensitive skin, I would be cautious in using this. I guess the silicone was the culprit and whatever fixative used to make it transfer-resistant did not agree with my skin. Unfortunately I lost the receipt and I can't return it. I will give it away to someone who has more resistant skin.
