Bought: Sep 2013(10 months now).
Driven: 5000 kms(mostly city+ 3 outstation trips)
Like: Overall: Point to Point no nonsense car
Like: Rear Space
Like: Engine is extremely refined. You need to crank twice to understand that Engine is on
Like: Super Smooth CVT. Boon in traffic. You will never get frustrated of traffic jams anymore
Like: Linear smooth acceleration. Absolutely no jerks during speed increase/ decrease
Like: Ride Quality: Extremely supple(I have a back pain and can isolate the ride quality clearly). This car cleverly isolate the passengers from bad roads. Best suspension and ride quality in class.
Dislike: Handling: not so sharp(I drove a Fiat earlier and am biased towards FIAT experience here)
Dislike: Lack of Sudden acceleration+ prominent rubber band effect during sudden acceleration
Dislike: Entertainment system is pretty normal
Dislike: rear air vent is non usable
Dislike: storage spaces are not so well planned
Mileage: Extremely good for a 1.5Ltr sedan of this class
City: 11kmpl(grueling ITPL Bangalore Traffic). Sedate driving in general.
Highway: 16-17 kmpl(sedate lower three digit drive with occasional sprint)
Purchase priority: Ride quality followed by Ride Quality followed by Ride Quality.(have a back pain on this was the prime decision criteria)
Other cars considered before choosing Scala:
City 2008-2013 model: All fits except the low height for driver ingress/engress. Ride was not as supple as Scala.
Verna: Bouncy ride. Goodies/ accessories galore.
Vento/Rapid: Excellent handling, Stiff ride quality. I wanted a softer suspension
Maruti/ Tata/ Fiat - no worthwhile automatics
Dealer: So So experience. Not so great. Just average
