Reliance WiPod - Unreliable and misleading

Help & Support:

Chennai, I bought the Reliance Wipod(lava make for Rs 1800) in Dec 2015 along with a 5GB plan for Rs 686 incld taxes.

The speeds advertised were upto 14.7Mbps and 5-6 users can connect.

The reason for buying this was 2-fold, use multiple devices when I am on the road & also use it as a standby at home when my regular ISP provider fails.

From day 1 speeds were approx. 500Kbps of less and if more than 1 person connected then the whole thing would stop working. Since Dec I have been complaining to Reliance and wrote multiple times to their appellate authorities but not even a single response via email. Some random person would call suddenly to tell me the call will be attended to in 3 days but that's all. Nobody would actually make an attempt to resolve it. Only once a so called engg called and he didn't know anything about the OS I was using and couldn't help much.

He instead told me I had used up my 5GB quota when I was not even able to connect most of the time! Finally I cancelled my plan and during the call with the customer rep during cancellation he tells me that my quota of 5GB was never activated! I asked him why they charged me for 3.5 months. I didn't trust him at all. They again called me ystd to lure me with a new plan and I told them I won't take it even if its free. We need to be very firm when dealing with these guys. In the end I lost roughly Rs 4500 over 3.5 months with reliance. Easily the worst customer support experience I have had so far in my life.
