Till last month I was living in central place of Chennai city and was using BSNL Broadband 2MBPS and it was quite good for me with 2-8 unlimited and I was enjoying by downloading movies, software etc.
A sudden plan came and my family shifted to outskirts of Chennai. I know I cant get the land line not even BSNL. So I was disappointed.
I looked for all possibilities but nothing was really working. With anticipation I applied for shift of BSNL landline. But I know it may take even a year to come to my place.
With no options left I went to Reliance broadband + USB device. Still I was not sure of the signal so I called customer care and next day they sent an executive to my office and I took him to my home to test the signals of reliance broadband.
We kept the settting as Braodband+ (actually there are options to set 1x , Hybraid and Broadband+) to my surprise the signal streghth was amazing. I even checked the speed in test servers and I got more than 2MBPS with transfer rate of 240 KB/s. I decided to go with this one.
When reliance 1 X was introduced I got it through offer from my office but I never used it. I inquired about the upgrade plan but the poor guy who came to my house was a DSA . So he insisted me to take the new connection and surrender the 1x connection.
He even offered to give a monthly discount of 300 if I choose a plan above 1000. But why should I go for two process of surrendering one connection and getting a new connection.
Still I cant leave reliance cos this is the only option I have. So I went to reliance webworld in RA puram . They a offered a discount of 500 on initial device cost so I need to pay only 3000 and get 250 discount per month for 12 months if I take a plan above 800. This looks decent for me. So I gave the old device and paid 3500. they migrated the service from 1x to broadband immediately. There is no procedure. I didn't even sign a paper.
The reason I paid 3500 is... it seems they have to sell the 1x device through some vendor and return the money.
But the next day itself I got a call from them and they gave the 500 back.
Im using the device for past 1 week and speed is amazing. Its not evening getting disconnected in between.
i took a plan of 949. but I need to pay only 949-250 every month. It is 2 GB limit in day and 10 Gb limit in night. Only disappointment for me is there is no unlimited plan. Actually they have but its not really unlimited as they implement fair usage policy and even unlimited plan limit is 20 GB.
Overall my experience was good in getting broadband +. I didn't get to customer care for any issues so I couldn't give any info about that.
