No Reliance on Reliance - Never buy one. Review on Reliance Netconnect

I purchased the Reliance Netconnect Datacard in 2010, which had a speed to upto 3.1MBPS. Purchased it after a lot of research and reading reviews on MS as well. While all of them had bad reviews including Reliance the number of bad comments for Reliance felt less and I thought of taking a chance with it.

I went and connected the device and there was a auto-run to install the required software. However for some reason it never worked. Called up the service center and was told to make a few settings. Once that was done I was told the service will be activated within 24 hours.

It was activated the next day and the speed was decent if not very fast. I did face a lot of problem with the network in the last four years and even the customer service is horrible. Though they time and again tell the same things and ask to run some spyware removal tools which gets nothing. After I moved to a new place, the network speed and connectivity decreased like anything. There were frequent disconnections and even there were times when there was no signal at all. I raised complaints with the customer care number of times but each and every time they would mention the same that a technician would visit and check but the situation never improved.

I had taken the unlimited package for around 900 bucks and till 5GB data usage I will get max speed and after that it would reduce to around 144kbps or so. However sometime later they reduced the fare to around 550+tax for the same package and I was never informed of this by the customer care but a pop up once came up on connection and that is how I came to know about it. So I was ending up paying 200 bucks a month additionally over the actual price. When I called the customer care and asked why the reduced cost was not being reflected in my bill they said that it was my duty to find and make the change to the new plan. They will not be informing the customers about the price reduction through a call.

Finally after a lot of problems I decided to terminate the connection. On the day my final bill was generated I asked them to terminate through an email. However they registered the request only after one day and said that the number will be active for 7 days for which I will be charged. When I did not use it why should I be charged?But they increased my bill and even threatened to file a court case. The lady who used to call from those recovery agent was extremely rude and uneducated. Repeated emails and calls to the customer care did not yield anything and they failed to give any explanation/justification on the same. In the sms for the court case they kept giving a number of an A*hole name Ansari(93250570520) for clarifications and this number was neither reachable through mobile/landline. I went to reliance outlet to trace this number and they said such a number is not available in the system itself. You can still try calling this number and you wont be able to get through

They sent email for reconciliation with a lawyer Mr. Altaf Sakkarge and I called up that guy to tell him that the number is not reachable for any clarifications. That man said that its not his problem since he just sends notice and nothing apart from that. He does not verify the number or the actual facts before sending emails. Such is the lawyer fraternity in our country.

My suggestion is to never ever take a reliance netconnect connection even by mistake. Its not worth at all. A highly unethical company. Make sure you have all proofs against their non service and if they threaten with a court case, you in turn file a case in the customer court and ask for compensation from them
