I am using the reliance netconnect sinceJune 2009. I just love the device. Its fast and reliable. I got it in Delhi and now using it in Kolkata for the last 3 months. reasons I love it :
Its fast (n furious) ; I have just downloaded a movie of 910 MB in 85 mins !!!! ; while I was browsing my mails , watching streaming videos in youtube and chatting. Is not it amazing
I have to do on call support from home (curse for being in IT) ; and it is my savior; I connect toVPN and log in to my client domain and trouble shoot on multiple servers @ one go. It not only remains connect and performance hardly dips.
I used the device while going from Delhi to Guwahati in Rajdhani ; and was in touch with my friends through FB even while travelling through villages of Bihar and west Bengal (though @ 144kbps , ie, 1X speed) @ a speed of 120 KM/hr. (is not it good)
When I transferred from Delhi to Kolkata , it seemed the reception just got better. While in Delhi ; it used to dip to 1X speed every 2 hours (just reconnect the device and its back to HSD speed) but in Kol it hardly dips even while I am working for more than 5-6 hours. !!!!
But the pain area is the subscription. I cough up 827/month (750 + 10.3% tax) for a 2 GB plan :(
The customer support is not that bad , but I found them good while they explained all the usage policies to me. I wish they had an affordable plan like BSNL EVDO (EVDO offers unlimited plan @ 750 + taxes PM).
I may opt for BSNL EVDO in coming days , but I am so far so good with NETCONNECT !!!
