We take wireless plans for one key reason: to be connected on the go wherever we may be.* An instance of this is the mobile phone. The landline phone served us well for several decades but we all adopted the mobile phone cos it was wire free and promised continuous connectivity.
In addition to this, another reason I decided to opt for Reliance Netconnect was the speeds they promised: 3.1 MBPS. I already had an MTNL connection and at that point the office had give me a Tata USB connection, which was really slow. I thought speed-wise a 3.1 MBPS connection is better than my existing MTNL Triband with the added advantage of being wireless.
Since I bought it, the connection has been a pain. I don't think it has ever give me speeds more than 100kbps. and during multiple online speed tests it rarely ever attained speeds of more than 50KBPS. My dial-up connection used to faster and more reliable I think.
As far as reliability of connectivity is concerned, it used to keep getting disconnected every few minutes. Now the situation seems to have improved but not much better. In the middle of an online transaction just after you have entered your credit card details you can expect disconnection.
As far as service support **goes, each time you call them they will come up with some stupid reasons like clearing my temp folder and my cookies and stuff. I have done all they asked me to without any obvious improvements, but for the life of me I cant understand how deleting a few cookies and temp files will improve my connection speed. I mean how can u blame ur temp folder and cookies for connection speed dropping from 3.1 MBPS to less than 50 KBPS, and the constant disconnection.
