I bought Reliance net connect just 4 days back from a reliance shop in Pune. Its suppose to give me a top speed of 3.1 mbps.
*Tariff Plan and connection speed
I found the Tariff plan of this connection very costly to start with but I had to buy this connection as a wired connection was not possible where I stay in Pune and in wireless connections, I was not aware about any other connection.
The advantage of this connection is that I can access internet from anywhere.
The disadvantage is the network. if its on a hybrid network it gives me a decent surfing and downloading speed however most of the time when I am in bombay it switches to CDMA 1x network due to which I am unable to surf the net or download anything.
With the current performance I doubt that it can reach anywhere close to even 1 mbps or even half of that and considering this performance the Tariff plan's for this connection are very costly.
Either Reliance needs to re-look at building the network to support that kinda speed on this connection or it needs to reduce the rates which atleast reduces the pinch on its customers.
Customer support
The customer support number is always busy. You hold the line for half an hour and there is no one to answer the Toll free number which is used for Internet complaints.
This means if your stuck due to some connection problem, Only god can help you.
Someone in Reliance customer care needs to understand that if customers are calling in then someone needs to answer the call in a decent amount of time. its hard to believe that reliance cannot afford salaries of some customer care advisors when they expect customers to pay such high Tariff.
Isnt there a Service Level agreement for the number of calls on hold and the number of calls being dropped?
Reliance - Please outsource this work to some third party call centre and have decent amount of FTE's to take care of your customers. Bad service does not help you maintain your customer base. Do something before it impacts your business.

I will try this connection for some more time however if things do not work out well then I will throw this connection away and switch to something else.
