Reliance FWP service sucks

I'm not very good at making the review interesting. However, I'll try to present my experience with Reliance FWP phone that I have now.


I'm using Reliance FWP (Fixed Wireless Phone) for about 10 months now in Bangalore.


What is good about it:

(1) When you rent another house, you don't have to go through the hassle of getting a new connection. Wow! wireless ka zamaana hai.


What is bad about it:

(1) Coverage was good 10km away from the city. Now that I moved to a house that is 3km closer to the center of the city, i.e., only 7km from the city, the call gets disconnected very often because the phone indicates that there is no service. It works only if you sit in the middle of the road :)


(2) Reliance penalizes you by disconnecting the phone if you pay the bill regularly. The bill was generated on August 17th, and the phone was disconnected at 0 hours on August 19th (even before the day started). I'm assuming that they'd give their staff some time to mail the bills. They can only reinstate the connection. Even the customer support representatives acknowledge that my payment was received and they don't know why the phone was disconnected.


(3) I've not received the bills for the last 7 months.


(4) If you have to complain, you have to spend several hours with the customer service representatives before you get some response.


(5) I'm consistently being over charged for internet. The customer support representatives (including their arcnet team) have no idea about the detailed usage. The charges on the bill are not consistent, e.g., the ISP charges and data usage charges are billed for different minutes.


Some other experiences are


(a) When I called the billing folks telling them that I've not received the bill, they said ''we'll disconnect your phone if you don't pay the bill by the following day''. I had to complain to the regional office to get an extension of one week.


(b) They have no idea why I'm being overcharged on my internet service


(c) Customer service representatives are sometimes rude. They never have a supervisor in their office. They don't have phone numbers of their supervisors


Final conclusion from me about Reliance is that


RELIANCE SUCKS !!! RELIANCE SUCKS !!! RELIANCE SUCKS !!! RELIANCE SUCKS !!!
