I will tell you how to minimize your expenses using Reliance phones
First I will tell you my pattern of usage and how I use reliance to greatly reduce it.
Then you can compare your usage style with mine and see that reliance's services when used apropriately are the best in this country.
NON-INDIAN READERS KINDLY NOTE: Reliance Infocomm is a major telecom provider in India ( https://relianceinfo.com) and it provides mobile and fixed wireless phones with its CDMA network
Now coming back to what I was talking about
Some people hate reliance and some love it. I love it because it greatly reduces my expenditure
My usage pattern is as follows:
1) I talk to one number a lot ( almost I hour per day). it is my girlfriends number
2) I use the internet for almost 2 hours per day on an average ( yeah I am a net addict)
3) I have around 50 - 60 sms per day
What I use
A LG Colour phone (rent 550 per month) (talktime 100 Rs)
A Fixed wireless phone (rent 500 per month) (Talktime 450 Rs)
( to know more about the fixed wireless phone read
https://relianceinfo.com/Infocomm/html/fwt-fwp/fwp_home.html#fwp )
some people use their reliance mobile phones for internet .. my suggestion is dont.
This is because of two reasons:
1) you have to pay a rental of 200 per month from Aug onwards
2) In the fixed wireless phones you can surf the net at 10 p/min in the off-peak at 115kbps!!
so use the reliance fixed wireless phone instead
Details for the Fixed wireless phone:
The upfront payment is Rs1800 and after that the rental is Rs 500 per month and out of that you get 450 rupees of talktime free!! That is you just spend 50 rupees per month!!
Also the fixed wireless phone has the facility of a CUG or closed user group.. ie you can call any reliance numbers for free .. you just have to pay rs 50 per number per month!!
Another feature of the fixed wireless phone is that its call rates are low ( lower than any other provider) , especially at the off-peak hours (1030pm to 0630am)
I use the reliance handset ( an LG RD7130) for sms ing and recieving calls
Belive me in 1100 bucks I am comfortably calling my gf for an unlimited time (CUG) , surfing the net and having a normal mobile phone so that I can be contacted anytime anywhere.
normally such a usage would put in the Rs3000+ bill category
But thanks to reliance I have greatly reduced my bills and now I can talk to my heart's content to the woman I love so much
so if your situation is like mine ( especially if you are a student ) go for it.
The economics work out, as you will find out for yourself.
