BSNL vs Reliance. Review on Reliance Mobile Operator

It’s a complex calculation and I am sure Einstein wouldn't have understood the cell phone prices. I cannot distinguish between cell phone tariff and cell numbers - both r 10 digit numbers.

If anyone can tell me that 1 service provider is better then other with full confidence then he should deserve nothing less then a noble price.

This pricing stuff will go down as 1 of the most unsolved puzzles in the world. The greatest puzzle in human history. After 10 years we can see programs on Discovery on how CIA tried to solve this but failed as usual like how they failed with Fidel Castro for over 40 years now.

Just to make things more confusing to few people who r clear I tried to compare BSNL mobile and Reliance CDMA.

P.S.: I am an Airtel Subscriber and not an employee or shareholder of Reliance Also I don't have any relation with BSNL except I have BSNL land line from last 20 years. I know BSNL from the days when for making STD I HAD TO CALL A OPERATOR AND BOOK TRUNK CALLS. (Just for the information to new generations)

First and foremost there was great lobby working against CDMA service providers like Reliance and Tata Indicom. When they failed they had no option but cut tariff rates, which in turn benefited us (Wasn't that good news to Cell users, thanks to Reliance).

let me compare the rentals charged by different providers for getting incoming free

Airtel - Rs.1199/-

Tata Indicom - Rs. 200/-

Reliance - no rentals but your installment of Rs.600/-

Many of non-Einstein people forget that the aspect that On reliance mobile incoming calls are free which forms the bulk of our bill. Like for e.g. people opting for leisure life style (rental Rs.250) in Airtel has to shelve out Rs.2.50/min for incoming, if you talk for 1min 1sect it becomes 2 pulses isn’t this absurd and expensive.

At reliance it is 15 secs pulse at just 10 ps/15secs and its very advantageous and none of the GSM service providers give you connection and advanced mobile phone for just starting investment of Rs.3000 and the balance in monthly investments with free talk time of 400 mins.

If you just compare all options you will find that Reliance has created a defining moment in the way India speaks. I feel that we should be proud of Reliance, an Indian Company going against all odds to provide us the ultimate service and stop creating a bad image of this venture.

I am 1000% sure Reliance will wipe out rest of the competition and it will succeed in a very grand way.

Lets see from BSNL point. Why people are not including BSNL in the picture.

What I feel is Reliance is no better than BSNL post paid connection. Monthly Rental is 325/- and incoming free where as in Relaince its 600/- And I have heard it is difficult to call Relaince mobile subscriber from land

line.

Most people call you from landlines only. This I am not sure, time will tell us. we will have to wait and see this. I agree that if both caller and callee have Reliance connection, then it has got some advantages over BSNL.

Yes, BSNL also have this 15 sec pulse for outgoing calls. And you have only 400 minutes talk time free in a month and after that you will be charged at PSTN rates for both incoming and outgoing charges.

Taking my friends case as example, he is using mobile since 10 months and my talk time is recorded as 97 hours till day. It’s almost more than 400 minutes per month.

If we assume that no GSM service provider will offer a handset and connection for 3,000. BSNL post paid connection is only for Rs.200 if you have a landline. And if you are already a mobile user of any other service provider, say HUTCH or AIRTEL, no need to spend 3,000 for the CDMA

set again. Yes I agree that there is a deficiency in the supply of SIM cards. But once enough connections are available, Reliance will nowhere near BSNL.

Let me make things more clear and simpler

If r = Reliance and b = BSNL,

From the above equation is absolutely clear that both are almost same. Nobody gives things for cheap.

I would recommend 3 things

1. If u have a GSM phone keep it. Don't change it to CDMA. Billing will be more or less same in both cases. It’s a matter of 50 Rs. There is no point in rushing to CDMA. Wait and see how thing happen

   
   




2. If u dont have a GSM - close u r eyes and go for CDMA.

   
   

WHAT I WOULD DO IS

1. Close my GSM connection and buy a pager. (Younger generation people, never try to imagine how life moves with pager) If the no on the pager is a g/f or wife no forget it. If its a friend no who owns an Aston Martin or a Ferrari THEN enjoy the evening.
