I have fallen prey to a scam perpetrated by Reliance Jio. They called me and asked me if I'm interested in the'Preview Offer' of Jio GiaFiber. In this offer I've to pay an amount of Rs. 4500 for installing the router and I can enjoy high speed(100 Mbps) Internet till June 2019. I opted for it and paid the money on 9th March, Saturday. On the very same day the router was installed by Jio technicians. I was told that it'll take 24 Hrs. to activate the connection.
I waited patiently the next day and day after. The connection was not activated. I tried to call the person who installed it and the sales guy who took my money. Both of them didn't answer my call. I raised a service request(SR00000W3R23) by calling the Jio Care. I was promised that the issue would be resolved by next 24 Hrs. To my utter surprise, they marked my service request "Resolved" without doing anything about the issue. I called again and got it re-opened. I checked after few hours and the same thing happened again. They simply "Closed" the request. No one even bothered to call me and check if my issue still exists. By this time 5 days had passed after installing the router and I never had a second of Internet connectivity. I was super frustrated and blasted the customer care guy as harshly as possible. This time I was promised a home visit to check the issue. Proving my apprehensions correct, no one visited. They simply "closed" the request(SR00000W7HF6) for home visit.
As a next step I logged a complaint with "Department of Consumer Affairs, Govt. of India", requesting them to intervene to get a refund from these daylight robbers. The complaint(Docket No. 1211291) is currently "In Process".
I found Mr. Anuj Jain on LinkedIn. He is the President of Jio GigaFiber. I sent him a connection request, which he accepted. I've posted a message to him describing my ordeal. I'm still waiting for an answer.
It's been 10 days now after the installation of GigaFiber router. I have not been able to connect even once.
