After working in Dubai for 2 years, I came back to india and found that the docomo sim-card that I had earlier, was deactivated. As it was not active for the past 2 years. So I decided to get a new sim card. The shopkeeper told me about the new Jio sim-card and the promotional offer that they are giving, i.e, free internet and calls for the first 3 months. I was impressed and wanted one. but the catch was that, I should buy a LYF mobile to get this free Jio sim-card and enjoy the amazing promotional offer. I didn't want to miss that offer, so I decided to buy a LYF mobile, just to get the Jio simcard. I bought a flame 6(LYF mobile) and got a Jio simcard with a fancy number and I was told that it may take up to 4 working days to get activated, as there are lot of sim cards sold everyday. After waiting for 5 days, the Sim-card was not yet activated. I called the Jio customer care and had to wait for 30 long minutes, listening to an iritating music, before I got to speak to someone. Spoke to a lady named Neethu and was told that my application has not yet reached them. So I called the shopkeeper and he told me that the application was sent out 3 days ago. I was stuck and didn't know whom to contact. on the 7th day I received a message that the Sim card is now active. I was amazed with the internet speed, but the call quality was very bad. after using it for 2 days, I got a message from Jio that the data balance is exhausted and I will have to recharge immediately. It was shocking and I couldn't use internet anymore. I called and customer care again and after 20 minutes of waiting, a guy named John picked the call and told me that the simcard is not activated because the mobile that I am using is not getting recognized. I told him that I am using the lame LYF mobile(made in china) that I was forced to buy to get the simcard. Later, he told me that their systems are down and he wont be able to help me further and advised me to call back after 4 hours. I was very frustrated and asked him to connect me to his supervisor. I spoke to his supervisor Mr. Praveen Kumar, he then collected the Imei number from me and told me that he will manually match the imei numbers and activate the offer in 24 hours. Its been 2 days now and I'm still waiting, with no internet connection.
