JIO 4G Offer

After facing lot of isues with reliance communication, a sister company Reliance Jio appeared in market as an angel to all Indian data consumers who are fed up of Data Policies used by telcos currently in India.

Seriously its like a BOON for people like me who got hopeless after shutdown of Reliance Cdma. Jio is not officially launched commerciallly in the Indian market but its in testing phase which is going very smoothly.

Jio owns spectrum in 800 MHz and 1, 800 MHz bands in 10 and 6 circles, respectively, of the total 22 circles in the country, and also owns pan-India licensed 2, 300 MHz spectrum. The spectrum is valid till 2035. JIO 4G and Reliance 4G both are different operators, and Reliance will operate on 800 mhz spectrum in few circles. Yes JIO doesnt have 2G and 3G but it has pan India coverage of 4G, so basically whose santoshkr80 use 2g if they have 4G pan India.

At present JIO uses 70% of Reliance Infrastructure for its service across india, so technically wherever you get Reliance GSM network you will be getting JIO 4G reception too.

Inspite of all of that Jio came with an offer in market which shoook the entire Telecom Industry in India currently. Leading companies had started to slash their tarrifs. Company offers the "LYF" brand smartphone starting @ Rs.2999 along with that company give preview offer Unlimited 4G Internet Data(without any FUP or data limit) Unlimited Video Calls, Unlimited local/std calls and Sms. Yes you read it right, everything unlimited for 3 months. You dont have to Recharge single paise untill 3 months for anything. But there is condition that you must have to purchase LYF smartphone which ranges from 2999 with 2 year warranty, thats not the big deal, whatever range smartphone you are buying(eg.20000), trust me you are getting benifits thousands times of the price of hardware. So basically hardware is free.

Now the company has announced the same offer Samsung and Apple customers but for a limited time.

My Experience With Jio 4G

As soon as I came to now about the offer on the day its launched, I rushed to Reliance Digital Xpress store to buy the offer just for Internet use. I purchased the Flame 1 smartphone which cost almost 5000, I saw the 2999 phone and others which did not impress me in terms of looks and specs. I opted for Flame 1 model, which sports Qualcomm Snapdragon Chipset, 1 gb Ram, 5MP camera and a 5 inch display and has good tough build quality and looks good too. Battery life is also very good as I watched 3 hour full HD movie and still 65% battery left in the device. So dont go on numbers, it has hardware that consumes less power.

At the begining there was a doubt in my mind about this unbelevible offer, that there should be FUP or something like that, but trust me guys., there is nothing like that its truly unlimited.

Its have been 20 days I am using the product and I have used almost 247 GB of 4G data at an average speed of 25mbps and max speed of almost 30mbps. I am attaching screenshot for proof of speed and data usage from 13 july to 20 july which shows almost 97 GB of cellular data in just 7 days, before that I have used 150 GB but formated the phone due to some technical reasons. Now I truly believe its damn Unlimited.

My Verdict

If you really want to purchase the smartphone that you can use for the daily life for 1 or 2 year then surely go for Flame 1 and above models. Otherwise data benifits and other services are same in 2999 models. LYF smartphones comes with free live unlimited Live TV and other Multimedia content
