Running to access the sky. Review on Reliance General Insurance

Hello everybody: I am an insurance consultant for long years and seen that this company's name was not known to everyone as others. Initially they did not advertised themselves so much. Their agents were also not seen much in the market. May be they had a different way of marketting. It is one of the last companies to enter the insurance sector & supposed to be also without any foreign partner. Rarely people knew about it as Reliance is known for its other products like shares or telecom. Overall they were not a very agressive company as other privates are. Also a very few people were seen who have insured through Reliance Insurance. However as discussed with dealers who have cashless tie ups for cars say that they are good in claim settlements. Today they say that can settle motor claims directly with any A category car workshops. Can't put much comments as far as refering to a prospective customers as in our country people run for products whose names are more spread in the air. After all awareness of something is always required. As a lot of time has elapsed, they have started to penetrate the market in the most aggressive way. Today they are trying to buy the market at any cost. Products like Health Insurance were the cheapest but later they increased the premiums to anyting. Health insurance was exactly same as the Govt. one's (incl of the rates) and they are currently taking people upto only 55 yrs but later they launched a new policy which cost peanuts but people complained sometimes that policies do not reach and in claims also they are not satisfying well. After the motors rates got detariffed from Jan 1, 2007, this company did whatever they could to grab the market but again came stepped back all of a sudden. Because of this type erratic nature only, this company is not vey dependable. However, today all private companies are erratic. They even say that they will not provide cashless settlement for cars if claims are more than 1 lac Rupees. Let's see who wins the race at last. Servicewise agent's cannot also be relied on as the motive of this company is seen to only grab grab grab as much market/money, rest everything can be seen later.
