To narate my frustration about this company their people and above all their attitude, I will have to give the back ground of my case history.


I had insured my car from IFFCO TOKIO last year and it expired on 4th of Aug 2009. I was under impression that it is expiring on 14th Aug but when I opened the paper on 13th August it was already expired. The IFFCO TOKIO guy said since the policy has expired they will have carry out the inspection and they will charge extra for the same. in the meantime my agent suggested that he will get quotes from couple of other companies and we will go with the lowest quote. I told him to go ahead and around August end he said Reliance is offering the lowest quote. I had my doubts about reliance but since my car was running without insurance I told him to go ahead.


When I received the policy cover note I was shocked to see that the Insured’s Declared Value was shown only Rs. 1, 00, 000/- whereas last year it was valued at 2.55 lakhs and premium was only Rs. 6616. When I saw this


I realized why Reliance General Insurance is notorious in the market and no one recommends it. They just want the customer to be trapped in their net and they do not give any information and just rope in the customer first. I do not knowhow long this company will survive in the market with this kind of company policy which is not at all customer friendly.I also observed that there was a totalling mistake in the


calculation of Rs. 457.41. I brought to notice both these to my agent and he


said he will take up the issue with Reliance and have this refunded back.


However it never happened and I also got busy in my routine and could not follow up on this.


I was further shocked when I received a letter from Reliance without any reference number 9I really don't know how these people operate without giving reference number to the letter) dated 21/12/2009 (received by me in the last week Jan) where rather than


refunding my money they were asking for more Rs. 1294 towards NCB giving reference of some undertaking given by me (which I never given). By Now I was more than 100%


sure that Reliance insurance is a big fraud company and take their customers for ride.Then on 16th Feb 2010 I wrote a letter and hand delivered it their office with all relevant copies and requested for a acknowledgment on my copy of the letter. The person taking care of policy Gaurav Jain did not acknowledge the copy saying his boss only can do it and he is out of office. ( I don't know if this guy work there as an office boy !!!). I challenged in my letter that I haven't given any kind of undertaking and if they have any such declaration, they should produce the same to me.


Thereafter after many follow up calls, mails and many stories, gaurav came to my office to meet me on 26th feb and said it was their mistake and there is no such declaration given by me. He also said that he will re-validate my car policy and will send the endorsement copy to me within 3 working days. After that I have been continuously following up with him on phone and mail but there is no response. Now he is saying that endorsement copy has to come from him Mumbai office and he does not know when it will come. (Now I am sure he is working there not more than office boy capacity).


Today I asked him to give his superior number as he is unable to handle the case. He said he will send it on SMS but even after my 6 calls he has not given me the number. With this kind of service and attitude of people working there you only decide if you want to take any kind of policy with Reliance. they are biggest fraud
