On hearing about the upcoming Dhirubhai Ambani DAV School at Kopar Khairane, Navi Mumbai, I got my children admitted to the Sr. KG. The school promised everything and having Dhirubhai Ambani's name associated felt that the school would ensure that the brand would not be diluted.
The school management was run by the DAV group while the infrastructure provided by Reliance Industries. The School was expected to start batches in June 2009.
After a month of completing admission formailites, being one of the 230 odd people to get the kids admitted to Pre primary, I get a call from the School saying that the batch will not start this year due to some tussle between the management and the contractor building the school premises and they are refunding the fees.
This has come as a total shock.
Admissions to all pre primary schools are now closed. The school management is behaving in such an irresponsible manner that cannot explain the problem. Moreso, it has diluted the name of Dhirubhai Ambani and Reliance in general in our view.
Such callous attitude shown by the management only shows their credentials, luring people to get their children admitted and then pulling the plug without even thinking what rests to the future of the children and their parents who had them admitted to their school.
I hope there is some light at the end of the tunnel. Not sure, where this may lead to, but the name has already got spoilt before even it was built.
