Hi,
I bought a Reliance Netconnect+ data card in Jan-2011 and used it till July-2011. The speed was never more than 300~ 350 kbps max. This is just about okay for basic surfing leave alone audio/video streaming that is implied by labelling the service as 3.1mbps "broadband"! Looks like Reliance has formed a view of all of us as being first-time users of the net who should be wonderstruck just by getting connected to the internet .
Speed issues apart, on 15-July-2011 I made an online payment to Reliance mentioning my MDN number. As usual, this netbanking transaction was successful and my account was debited promptly.
However the Reliance call center started calling me up requesting payment for outstanding amt. I mentioned all the payment details but to no avail - each time a different person from the call center was calling and each time I used to patiently repeat my payment details. Each time the caller gave a vague assurance that they will check this and get back.
After a few days they disconnected my datacard connection!
I wrote to their nodal officer, one Mr. Trilok Chatterjee apprising him of all the goings on thus far - shockingly - I am yet to hear from him!
I feel victimised by Reliance - since they have done this despite my being a regular paying customer.I don't know what was my fault - they are not even responding to an escalation to their own nodal officer. Meanwhile I am left with a useless datacard device for which I paid Rs. 1699/- Looking back I now think that if Reliance has made a calculated move.what could be the reason?
