Dear Mouthshut readers,

My humble request for you guys is not to opt for Reliance Wimax internet connection. I stay in Bangalore. There is no option for me than to go for Reliance Wimax at my home. As an introductory price they took 500Rs for installation fee and wooed so many innocents in the city. I took the connection in March 2008. I took the 300kbps unlimited plan with a monthly rental of Rs 999(+taxes).  From the day one the connectivity is pathetic, you won't even get a download speed of 15KB(not even half of the speed promised). To list out the problems, I will start with its main problem of your machine getting IP address from the server. Since they use DHCP server over WiMax, it takes some time(some times hours) to get the IP address. This problem recurs twice in a week or even more than that.

Since I go to office in the morning times, I use this only on evening times and weekends. Imagine yourself in a situation where your office has blocked access to your private mails and have not chatted with your friends for more than 9 hours and you come to home and see the connection is not working!

To highlight about the customer service, when you call them up, they will file a complaint and they will promise you that their technical department will contact you in an hour. You wait 1hr, 2hr and 3hrs and you go to sleep!  Some times you go out, then they call you and will ask you whether you are in front of the computer.

Now I am  vexed up with the service and connectivity I has asked for termination of the connection on Sep11th 2008 and it seems it takes 15 days for them to act on it, and today it 15th day since I lodged complaint. I would be throwing out their antenna mounted on my roof top on to the street.

Happy Surfing!
