Wonder... shout... pull your hair out (pull partner's hair out, incase you're bald)... and finally promise not to watch anything with a Madhavan - Diya Mirza combination.

That is the order one must, or rather, one does follow when watching this movie.

Ishtory

Kii story sii! (what story was!). Think about it... a Road Side Romeo (RSR) falls for a beautiful, well educated, cultured girl. She is soon to meet the man her parents have chosen for her. The man in question lives in the US. Our Road Side romeo wants her so bad, that he cuts off the girl's telephone line so that Mr USA cannot call. Instead he lands up at her place pretending to be Mr USA. Kudii (girl) is impressed with our Mr RSR. They date, and he falls in love (obviously!). She too falls in love with him. Soon Mr USA arrives and our romeo's cover gets blown. The lady in red (literally! you shud've seen her fume), is very upset, heartbroken, what not! (understandably of course).

The other twist is that the romeo and Mr USA are old enemies from college days. The Romeo was a crappy guy right from his puberty it seems, and the USA man was always helpful, intelligent and reasonable.

So what should romeo do to woo his lady love? Well he certainly shouldn't beat up the US guy for that's sure to get the lady mad. But wait, this is a hindi fillum! He did that. He did just that. When a thousand little grey cells shouted to be heard, he instead went with his... i'm-a-hot-blooded-male-so-i'm-not-allowed-to-be-smart thing. Lady in red becomes lady in red to the power 10!

Finally, since the romeo had already managed to reserve a place for himself, the lady gives in and they get back together. Hai rabba!! (sorry bhoomz ;) )

Myujik

Well honestly, I liked the music. I believe each song was composed by a different professional and that added variety. The music was really good. It was was sweet, simple. What I liked best was that the singers were never loud. Usually play back singing is more about being loud and energetic. This movie had songs sung in such a simple, calm kinda way (almost lazily), that I liked it.

Acting

Yes Diya Mirza has no acting talent. But I must admit, the lady did try. She did well in a scene in which she's heartbroken over what our romeo did.

Madhavan, well his acting was fine, a bit over acting in parts. Frankly, his character just ticked me off. That's all.

Saif, poor guy didn't have much to do. But he did justice to his clean boy role.

Kya khaas tha

  • Diya Mirza is one pretty lady. She looked good throughout and fitted her sweet character well.

  • Diya Mirza's house. Ok ok, so it has nothing to do with the movie review, but I loved her house. Kya location, kya interiors, kya... ok, I'll shut up.

  • Saif's wardrobe. Saif's wardrobe during his college shots was good. He looked nice. Not considering the flowery shirt thing he's wearing in one of the songs (looked borrowed from Govinda)

  • The music. As I've already said, it was good.

Kya bakwaas tha

  • Diya Mirza's phone is dead for a few days. A few days! And the lady doesn't even put in a complaint with the authorities. I mean, it's a phone for God's sake! Well so yea, I love my phone. Heck I'm on dial-up, so I survive on phone. Guess she didn't have that problem. But it was stupid.

  • Madhavan's character. What an utterly faltoo role. He's a guy who runs on too much testosterone. He beats up people, is abusive and yet gets the girl. What a piece of crap! Yaar, character realistic hain toh story bhi toh ho (if the characters are realistic then the story should be too)

  • Anupam Kher. Did I not mention him before? That's because he was totally useless and unnecessary. He owns a CD store and is a cool dad with a capital C. He infact supports the idea of fooling the lady. Kalyug hai Kalyug!

Reasons to watch

  • To drool over Diya Mirza. (Go ahead. She's drool worthy)

  • To drool over Saif. (Ok, you're normal)

  • To drool over Madhavan. (I am a psychology student in need of a patient. Kindly apply)

  • Curiosity (did you know curiosity increases the chances of doing something idiotic by 250%)

  • You work for MTNL and appreciate Miss Mirza's tolerance for dead phones.

  • You are a road side romeo and need inspiration.

  • You are from the US and need to be prepared for all the romeo's you might have to fight off for your fiancee.

  • You can't believe that Diya lives without a phone. You want to see it to believe it.

  • You want to watch a beautiful girl give up a handsome american for a completely useless fellow. It increases your confidence around women.

Reasons to skip

  • You just read my review (kya baat hai boss! You read it? Wah Wah)

  • Madhavan!!

  • Nonsensical story. The girl is such a delicate flower and is heartbroken and then eventually forgives the guy for impersonation, trespassing, heartbreak... God knows what all! She should, instead, have hired a lawyer.

Finally

I do realise that the reasons to watch outweight the ones to skip, but don't let that confuse you. This one deserves a miss. On second thought, go see Mirza without a phone.. hehe (i'm obsessed)

In simpler words... Who made this piece of crap!!!
