Xiaomi has launched yet another mid-range Android smartphone; the Redmi 8A Dual. The display of the Redmi 8A Dual measures 6.22 inches IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels. Here, it is important to notice the fact that a recently launched smartphone has a display of 6.22 inches. At times like these, where smartphones with bigger and better displays are running the game in the first position, it kind of seems like a step back to come up with a smartphone with a small display screen.
The Redmi 8A Dual runs Android 9.0 and is powered by a 5000mAh battery under the hood. It is powered by a 1.45GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor that features 4 cores clocked at 1.95GHz and 4 cores clocked at 1.45GHz along with a 2GB RAM. Before moving forward, there are a few things that I find are important to shed some light on.
With Qualcomm Snapdragon 439, Redmi 8A Dual sports a 13-megapixel camera+ 2-megapixel camera on the rear, and, a 8-megapixel camera on the front. Now this combination seems like a great deal, but, only on paper. Along with that, the 2GB RAM isn’t really that much of a help. Anyways, moving forward with the processor and the camera setup, it does not deliver what it is supposed to. The images are flaky and little too grainy. The rear camera auto focus takes quite a lot of time to, well, focus on something which just makes the device slower in response rate.
From frequent lags and interruptions to an even worse battery backup, it leaves nothing more to explore.
