This weekend we planned to do a round trip to Hyderabad from Bangalore. This was my first visit to Hyderabad with the family and owing to Diwali season we were unable to book tickets either by train or by Govt. Transport services. Daily newspapers mentioned additional buses being deployed to cater to festival season but I did not see any new buses being added either by KSRTC or APSRTC. we decided to book
tickets online - redbus.in.
We were lucky go get the tickets. However the tickets were priced double the actual price (1500/- as against 700/- in an a/c volvo semi sleeper). Though reluctant, we booked 3 tickets on Saturday night to Hyderabad which was scheduled to depart at 9.15 from Gandhinagar, Bangalore. The chaos started at the Travels office as there were multiple bookings for the same seat and each had a valid print out to show that their payment was successful online. Frantic calls to the call-center of Redbus was in vain. The number just did not exist. After having paid few more hundreds, we managed to get the seat.
The return ticket was booked via KSRTC counter and same ticket costed me 700/- Where should I go seeking justice?
Lesson learnt- never book tickets online unless it is a govt. agency or from a reputed service vendor.
