Sometimes small films do wonders, like previous week’s Honey moon travels pvt Ltd. Which is going on to the super hit status at box-office and also getting glowing reviews from the critics and positive word of mouth from the cinegoers, or like the last year’s Pyar ke side affects. It is the case with the current release RED.
Although the promos and theme seems interesting but you cannot deny that it’s a small budget and small canvas film having no STAR in it. Obviously Aftab, Celina and Amrita Arora can be termed as OLD strugglers but not superstars by any means.
Yes there is a surprise for you and is a very pleasant one. When the reels unfold in front of you, you cannot do anything except gluing towards the screen as RED is a real entertainer that keeps your interest alive from start till the end credits.
Like most of the Vikram Bhatt’s films, Red is a thriller with a hutke kinda theme that can not be innovative for western cinegoers but for Indian junta the theme of Red is really new and shocking to some extent.
The film talks about love, betrayal, the other side of the apparently harmless human beings and yes the ORGY angle. I will not go into the story details as it will lessen your interest in the film when you will watch this new master piece in thriller on indian cinema yourself.
You have to give credit to Aftab Shevdasani that despite of the box office results, he always chooses films that have something new in them script wise. Be it the hit Qusoor or flops like Muskaan or Jane hoga kiya. But the choice of RED seems just absolutely right as the films have all the chances to become a hit. Aftab infuses life in his role os a possessive person, Celina Jetlaey is improving wit hevery new outing while Amrita Arora shows for the first time that she is a decent performer despite of just a sexx doll.
Vikram Bahtt is in full form this time, and all set to give another pure hit. Music is already popular and all songs especially Afreen and Ameen arehummable.
Screenplay is very tight, editing is perfect and treatment and presentation of the film is just par excellence. Cinematography is eye catching and one should feel to salute the great efforts of the aesthetic, in-depth and intense cinematography of the films’ cinematographer that brilliantly gells with the films’ mood and atmosphere and gave haunting results on the screen.
In short, if you are a fan of thrillers and hutke kinda subjects and want to entertain yourself fully in this way, then don’t ever think to give a miss to RED.
