I woke up. I got dressed. I ate breakefast. I went to school, which started only a week ago. How normal a day it was, or how a foolishly mistook it.
Sometime at nine the first plane crashed into the first tower of the World Trade Center. I didn't know at the time. Sometime later, a second plane crashed into the second tower.
My teacher, the father of nine kids, found out in the staff lounge what had happened. He said ''A plane crashed into the World Trade center. It's in New York, and where the stock market lives''. At the time I thought ''Life throw's curveballs. It's an accident that happened.''
One of my friends, who goes home for lunch everyday, said that ''this was no accident''. At the time, I didn't know a lot about terroists and planned attakcs. He said that someone took over plane and crashed them purposly into the buildings.
The rest of the day I couldn't concentrate in class. Why would someone kill themselves doing that? It wasn't only me who was thinking. A good deal of people seemed to be thinking. The kids do care.
When I came home I learned more. A man by the name of Osama Bin Laden, a multi billionaire, who was a muslim, was the prime suspect. The stuff he was saying about America and there aliies made me cry. I was scared. More scared then ever before. I didn't feel safe. Rumours of the Third World War, nuclear weapons blowing up everywhere. I couldn't swallow it all in.
More terrifying information leaked out. Seems that the plane that crashed in Pensyvania was aimed for the military base in Washington. The one that hit the Pentagon was aimed for the White House. If that actually happened, I cannot say what would of happened.
Now anthrax spread across the country, including one that was sent to Tom Brocka, the NBC nightly news host. I saw him at the end of the show ''And for those people that sent me the letters, I have things to say to you that is inapropiate for live television''.
My cousins also told me some haunting news. I letter was received by a muslim before sept 11 that read ''Stay out of the Twin Towers on sept 11. stay out of malls on Oct.31''. That's holloween. Threats and more threats. The World series was heavily gaurded.
But 3 stood above them all. Some of the terroists came across the Canadian border, and we didn't stop them. And the death toll. Over 6,000 lives were taken. And the kids on the Afganistan streets were in joy. It hurt.
The coincidence that sept 11 also reads 911 is for you to decide. Possibly a sign?
