After about 3 years I am writing any review in Mouthshut. It is good to be back.
I have been using X2Pro for about 8-9 months now I have bought 2 of them as I genuinely love this fone. Ayway, as usual I will be sticking to a 10 point rating scale for your better comprehension for each aspect.
1) BUILD QUALITY n DESIGN -
This fone's build is super with front and back covering with Gorilla Glass and metal frames in the sides. It comes with 2 color variants White and Blue and I have both. Blue one attracts some fingerprinrts but the white one does not. Also the metal rim in the white variant looks more elegant. The Design of this fone looks pretty good except for the Realme Logo which according to me is in a very awkward position. Power and Volume buttons are tactile. Other port placements are practical too. Overall the build and design is nice and premium of this fone, no compromises.(8/10)
2) DISPLAY -
This has 6.5" Amoled 90hz Refresh Rate display and the diaplay is excellent. Colors just pop out with vibrancy, Viewing Angles are great, Touch is super smooth and u will surely feel it if u are coming from a 60hz display. Brightness level is great and Sunlight Vilsibility is excellent too. Yes, there is a notch in form of Selfie cam but u will get used to it after a few days.
Those who r confused between Redmi K20 Pro and Realme X2 Pro, I should tell you that the main difference lies in display between the two and nobody will tell u that. I know it very well coz I have used K20Pro too for a few months as my primary driver. The display in X2Pro is bigger, more vibrant and the main thing is brightness level(manual or auto) and sunlight visibility is much much better in X2Pro than K20Pro, just take my word for it.(9/10)
3) Performance -
It is running on Snapdragon 855+ SOC and both of my variants have 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB UFS3.0 Internal Storage. Mark my word this fone is performance monster. Be it just casual day to day work or some heavy gaming or multitasking, this fone just flies.no hiccups, stutter. Another good thing is that, the fone does not get overheated while gaming or prolonged use,
For heavy gaming like PUBG or COD etc. u should get this fone in this price range. I am telling you a secret difference of PUBG performance between X2Pro and K2Pro. In game Sound qaulity(like footsteps, gunshots, ambient sounds) is much better in X2Pro and I have played PUBG on both.
X2Pro supports Smooth-Extreme combo in PUBG and plays the game like a champ. As the display produces vibrant color, game graphics look great. An "extra smoothness" thing u will notice while playing PUBG(though it does not support 90fps till now) which enahces the gameplay a bit. Throughout its entire interface u will feel that smoothness and it feels really great I just cant describe it in words. I also used Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite( now priced at 42K) with 60hz display and this kind of extra smoothening was not there.(9/10)
4) Coonectiivity, Calling, Signal Reception etc.
Bluetooth works very well. Wifi is also up to the mark. Calling is breeze coz In Call volume is loud and clear. Signal reception is good too, no complaints here. There is no FM radio here please note.(8/10)
5) Speaker, Multimedia, Audio Output -
X2Pro has Stereo speakers we all know and the output is great. It is not as breathtaking as Asus ROG2 but it produces loud yet crisp sounds. Watching Youtube or Netflix on this fone is a pleasant experience due to the powerfull speaker, excellent screen and Widevine L1 support(for Full HD Streaming). And now the most exciting feature regarding audio.yes u guessed it right X2Pro has 3.5mm Headphone Jack and the audio output via this is very nice. Dolby Atmos is also there and if u pair it with good qaulity earphones and tweak the Equiliser a bit, u will be amazed through its sound quality.(8.5/10)
6) Camera -
It has 4 cameras, 64mp main, 13mp telephoto, 8mp ultrawide and 2 mp depth sensor. I am not a camera person rather I am a casual shooter. In daylight u will get some pretty good pics with punchy color(which I personally prefer than so called natural color), good dynamic range and above average details. Wide angle is not that good but it serves its purpose for taking some interesting photos but with lesser details as usual. I seldom used the Telephoto lens so cant tell much about that. Macro photography experience is good in this fone but not great. U cant get much closer to the subject, the focus starts hunting. But still the macro photos with some distance came out good. Night time shots come above average if there is ample artificial light, otherwise for very low light u should opt for Manual Mode and a Tripod otherwise pics will be unusubale. Potraits come out well with good subject seperation and Bokeh. Here telephoto camera does its job.
4K Videos(30/60 fps) come with nice colors, steady EIS with goos details. 1080P videos are good too and Slow-motion works at 120fps here. Sound recording was good but nothing extra-ordinary.
Selphies come out well with 16mp sensor but I am not very excited. Throw good light and u will get good results, reduce the light and excitemnt falls down. Overall I guess camera is pretty good but ceratinly not the strongest suit of this fone.(7.5/10)
7) Battery n Charging -
4000mah Battery is there and it can comfortably give u 1 full day if u dont torture the fone. My usage comprises of 1.5-2hrs of Youtube, 1-1.5hrs PUBG n COC(yes I play them both), 15-20 mintues of call(on an average daily), normal surfing for news or banking apps or for shopping in flipkart, amazon for 1-2hrs and sometimes I listen to songs as well for 20-30 mintues.my X2Pro gives me approx. 5-5.5hrs of SOT and it is good considering I am in no way a light user.
The amazing thing is the Charging Speed with its 50watt Super VOOC charger which can top up my fone from 5% to 100% in literally just 30-32 minutes. But yes the phone gest a little warm during this time and the charger becomes hot, but this is also the case with most fones having super-duper fast charging.(8/10)
8) User Interface -
I got this fone with Color OS 6.1. Everybody raises their eyebrow hearing the word ColorOS. Yes, I know the UI is not at all that polished like One UI of Samsung, or fluid like Oxygen OS of Oneplus or full of features like MIUI of Xiaomi or does not have the Stock feel, but one very important thing I would like to remind u is that ColorOS is very very STABLE and OPTIMISED. I used Realme X2(not the pro) also and I had a fantastic experience there too with Snapdragon 730G and ColorOS 6.no lag, no app crash, no bugs.
Issues -
In the blue variant I updated my fone to Realme UI 1. And after that I am facing serious Battery Drain issue. I did not encounter any bug or app crash but my fone is draining heavily in use or even in standby. Apart from this 1 con, I could not find any significant flaw in this fone.
TIP -
Never ever update ur fone to Realme UI if u plan to purchase this fone. While setting up for the 1st time, uncheck "Auto Update". After setting up, enable Developer options by clicking Build Number 7 times and uncheck Auto Update there too. Then most importantly go to Software Update in Settings menu and uncheck "Auto Update Overnight". Try not to connect ur fone with any Wifi bcoz the update will be downloaded automatically but at least it will not be installed if u have gone through the above settings check. If in any case the update is downloaded it will give a prompt to install it in 2-3 days interval, just ignore that everytime and u will be ok.
X2Pro was a flagship killer in 2019 but in 2020 it is still relevant. U will find it in Flipkart and good news is now 6gb RAM variant is also available. I just saw today in Flipkart that 8gb variants have also got some offers and now they are under 30K.
I know most of u who r reading this review watch tech videos in Youtube and u r very much influenced by those so called Tech Guy recommending any phone. Yes, I am not a tech guy but I am a serious user and honest reviwer in this platform.and I can tell u that Realme X2 Pro still now is the best fone under 30K compared to Redmi K20Pro, Oneplus Nord, Realme X3 Superzoom, Samsung A51 etc.
Realme X2Pro is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED from my side in 30-32K price segment. If u raise ur budget, u can surely go for OP7T any day.
