Realme wants to offer more options in the sub-Rs 10, 000 segment including Realme C12 and Realme C15 with its recently announced C series. A month ago, the company announced the price of Realme C11 at Rs 7, 999. Strategically, the Realme C12 should have arrived next year, given that the brand is used to bringing just one C series a year. But Realme C12 is already available to consumers and is available for purchase.

The company says it has changed strategy and Realme C12 is not the successor to C11. It states with Realme C11, C12, and C15 that the company wants to serve consumers at every price point. With the C12, the consumer is looking for a smartphone priced below Rs 9, 000. The price of the phone for the base model starts at Rs 8, 999.

Realme C12 Price: Starts at Rs 8, 999

Realme C12 specifications: 6.5 inch IPS LCD display| Realme UI based on Android 10| MediaTek Helio G35 Processor| Triple Rear Camera(13MP+ 2MP B / W+ 2MP)| 5MP Front Camera| 6000mAh battery| 10W Charging Support| Rear Mounted Fingerprint Sensor| Gorilla Glass Support On Front Polycarbonate back| MicroUSB support

I have used the Realme C12 extensively as my primary device for the past one week and it is good to see that the brand is not compromising on features even on their budget phones. One of the major features of the C12 is its large 6000mAh battery.

What good

If you ask me, the best thing about the Realme C12 is not its unique design or large display but the battery, which is one of the most important aspects for the smartphone users. The massive 6000mAh battery lasted for about two days for me. I used the phone as my primary device for about seven days, which meant that I played games, watched movies, spent hours on calls, browsed social media platforms, sent emails, and more. The Realme C12 was capable of handling all these activities and lasted longer than I expected it to.

However, the phone takes a long time to fully charge and because despite the large battery it does not have fast charging support. Therefore, you should keep your PowerBank charged before the phone drains. In particular, the phone comes with micro USB support which is quite disappointing.

I have always had issues with the Realme repeating design for my phone. This is not the case with C12. The Realme phone has a unique design that makes it stand out from the competition. The geometric gradient design makes the phone stylish and trendy and the texture provides a nice feel and grip. Due to the unique textured back, you don't have to worry about fingerprint smoothie on the back cover. The rear panel includes a square-shaped triple camera module and a circular fingerprint sensor that is quick to unlock the device. Face ID is also fast.

Outside, maximum brightness is not enough

Given that almost everyone relies on their mobile device to work with friends and family, a phone with a large screen is a must. Realme C12 also gets a thumb in this department. I watched YouTube videos and some movies on C12 and found that the brightness inside the house is enough. But even when I went for a walk on my terrace, the maximum brightness was not enough to check my email.

Isn't good

Two areas where I think the Realme phone could have been better are performance and camera. These two departments are extremely important for each of us, as everyone wants a phone with a good camera and handles basic tasks well. The Realme C12 was sluggish and slow from the beginning. It took a noticeable time to open the application or switch between two or more applications. I used the phone for every possible task including email, video calls, browsing social media and watching videos and movies, playing games and more. Even sports like subway surfers do not run smoothly.

Another problem I faced was its weight due to the large battery. The C12 felt extremely heavy in the hands but it is possible to use it with one hand.

The phone provides a good hand feel and grip

The camera is a department where every budget phone disappoints. The camera of Realme C12 is just decent. Photos clicked in good electric light look decent but in most photos some were missing and colors looked saturated. Details captured in low-light photographs looked small and grainy. It was the same with portraits and macro shots. The selfie captured with Realme C2 looks fine, as well as details are missing from here.

Is Realme C12 good for you?

Overall, Realme C12 is a good option to consider if you have a tight budget and cannot afford a single penny of more than Rs 9, 000.
