Dear All,


one mistake I committed is 'subscription to reader's digest' and second mistake I committed is ordered so good books (thought so).


they are sending me reader's digest regularly and I like the monthly. problem was their other books promotion / selling strategy. they sent me lot of other winning opportunities - lots of papers till now I accumulated 1 kg of weight; think of how much material I must have received; all papers related to winning 2 lakh, 50K, brand new car and what not. all is meant to their selling of books. I liked few books and ordered them (at least 3 books). this is where actual problem begun. they never sent me the ordered books but other books which I never ordered for example selected editions. they also sent me reminder bill. immediately I called at their office informed them about the situation. I returned the book (at a courier cost of 220/- but book cost was only 199/-). they said please ignore the bill. after one month I received another bill for the same book but book was not received. I called them and informed but they say you must have ordered. I am fool because I ordered other books but till now I did not receive any book from Reader's digest.


I wrote to them but no response till now (25 days old story)


it seems their strategy is


they say you will have a chance of winning this ...this...and this...


emotionally black mail you to order for a book


with that order, they send you some other book w hich was not ordered


if you speak or write to them, they will not respond to your complaint


they keep on sending the bills


be careful, you should not be a victim like me


I am pasting here my direct mails written to them which were not answered, for your benefit

It is unfortunate to receive "Reminder Bill" under the following Scenario.


1) First of all I never Ordered "Select Editions (The Stockman, Black Wind, Qweilo, The Blood-Dimmed Tide)


2) I accepted courier without knowing which book is inside the pack / courier


3) I was shocked to see the unsolicited book-Select Editions


4) I immediately called @ 022-2761 5688 and informed about the unintended occurance and she requested me to return the book.


5) I returned the book through Gati Transport / Courier


6) I received "Reminder" bill (a shock) on 08-Nov-2006; without sending bill, why you sent reminder?


7) very regrettably you mentioned in the bill "unfortunately, it appears that you have overlooked the bill for this volume".


8) You also mentioned "you are enjoying your introductory volume", I am sorry, I am heart felt grievance with this unwanted book.


You sent me the book which I never ordered, you never sent me bill but a reminder bill though I returned book 10 days before.


if this is your strategy of selling unwanted books, I am extreemly sorry. I do not want to take any book from Reader's Digest.


My Important Conclusions:


1) As I have returned the book I do not need to pay for this book and I am not going to pay also as I followed the instruction from helpdesk @ 2761 5688


2) Please cancel all the outstanding orders (if any) of mine and do not send any book further.


Please clsoe my account, I am receiving Readers Digest for which I have already paid and I am happy with it. I do not want problems in the name of readers digest's books.


Please acknowledge this for the above two important points
