Great build quality - but lots of other issues...

Switched from Logitech G500 to this as the mouse buttons had died out on me. Had been itching to get my hands on a Naga for a long time... the number of buttons had kept me away till now.

First impressions were awesome. The build quality is typical Razer - Superb. Everything feels very well engineered.

Then the first of the 5 star review disappeared. They REQUIRE you to stay connected online to be able to configure your mouse. This has to be the most asinine decision ever. I get pissed off when my XBOX wants to go online for single player games... what possible justification can a Mouse have to sync up continuously with the cloud. If I had known I would never have bought this.

The second of the 5 stars went within 20 minutes of this happening. The mouse requires you to DOWNLOAD about 100-150 MB worth of software before it will let you remap keys on the pad. Really? Razer couldn't be bothered enough to slip in a small DVD with the requisite software with a mouse that costs 5000+?

The last star that disappeared from this review happened over game-play/usage over a few days. The six buttons are definitely useful - but my problem is with ergonomics... the positioning is such that you have to constantly adjust the position of the mouse in your palm to reach buttons... there is simply no way to keep your hand in a fixed position and use the thumb to hit all the buttons easily. This of course means that you are going to have a tough time keeping track of WHICH button is under your thumb and will definitely be hitting wrong buttons quite often.

The spacing of the buttons is visually fine - but when you actually hold the mouse they all seem really spaced out.

Net net - terrible mistake and I would never recommend this mouse (or any mouse from Razer if their software policy remains) to anyone.
