Hi! Everyone. This is a very special review for me,because this is my 100th review on Mouthshut.com.Today, wherever I am, that is because of your appreciation. When someone writes a review, and if you like it, you can show your appreciation to him, by giving it a high rating. Likewise, if you didn`t like that particular review, you`ll rate it low. This is another very important part of a review. A review is nothing without a rating.
WHY RATE REVIEWS?:
When you rate a review, the reviewer can understand, how much the others liked his review. Of course, if a writer writes a review, he SHOULD know if the people agree with him or not. Through rating somebody`s review, you can let him know whether his review was useful for YOU or not. After all, a reviewer writes reviews for the readers, so he has the right to know what the readers think about his opinion. You can express your feeling on his/her review, only by rating it.
HOW HELPFUL ARE RATING REVIEWS?:
Rating reviews is a very important part of a review itself. First of all the one who rates the review, gets his MS-Points, but while rating someone`s review, you should think about the reviewer. Will your rating be able to do justice to his review? Your rating to the review means a lot to the reviewer. The reviewer takes out his time, writes a review, so he should get a rating according to it. He should be given what he deserves! You rating can help the writer in a lot of ways. If he is given a high rating, he can become a STAR WRITER, because at that time, it is noticed what rating the reviewers` review got? At that time, it is YOUR RATING, which will be helpful for the reviewer.
HOW TO RATE A REVIEW?:
If the review, is not useful at all, and the writer has written a whole trash, you should rate it low. If a review is copied, or abusive, it must get a low rating, as it deserves so. But if you don`t agree with someone`s opinion or review, and if it is well written, then it doesn`t mean you give it a low rating, because no one can ever have the same opinion. Everyone is different from another. Everyone has different taste, different ideas, so you should not see, that the reviewer`s opinion does not match with your opinion, but you should see, how he has justified his recommendation. Other than that, you should go for the quality of the review and not for the quantity. After all, ”It is the quality which matters and not the quantity”. By this,I mean to say, if a review is lengthy, detailed but lacks substance, then you should not give it a high rating, only because it`s too long. You have to see the quality of the review. Is the reviewer writing the right thing? Is his opinion unbiased? So, rating a review is not to be taken lightly, as it is a serious issue.
HOW TO GIVE A FAIR RATING:
One should give a fair rating to the review. You should not see that is the reviewer who has written the review, a popular one? Is he a very known writer or has written 100 or more than 100 reviews. If the review, even of that reviewer, is not worth a high rating, then be fair and give him the rating which he deserves, without caring who the writer is, but if, as usual, he writes very well, then give the review what it deserves. If there is a new reviewer, you should not care, whether he has written 1 review or 2. You should not avoid his review, and if it is a useful one, give him the high rating, of which he is worthy. While rating a review, it is you who has to be FAIR!
RATINGS:
1.VERY USEFUL: This rating explains that the review was written very well, and more than that, it was a very useful one, through which you were able to take advantage. This is the highest rating and of course, the most ENCOURAGING one!
2.USEFUL: This rating indicates, that although the review was nice, still it could have been better. Through this rating, you can also explain the reviewer, that it was useful for you but not very useful.
3.SOMEWHAT USEFUL: This rating is somewhat disappointing for the reviewer. Giving this rating, you show, that this review is only a little useful and not that much. This is a low rating!
4.NOT USEFUL: And now to the worst side. Through this rating, you show that the review or the opinion was a bad one, which in no way can be proved a useful one for the reader. But, it is always important to comment on the review, to whom you are giving this rating, so that the writer can understand the reason for your dislike ness and so, he can correct his mistakes, in future.
