I am very new to Mouth Shut, with this being only my second review. I have spent a great deal of time reading before I signed on and now am reading some really great reviews now that I am a member. Some may wonder what it is that I am looking for in a review. Well, I am about to tell you.
I am really not a perfectionist as I am not by any means a writer myself, but there are a few things that I think are necessary to make a review count:
(1.) First of all if you are the writer, I think you must actually write. I not only would like to know about the product, but why it is that you like it or dislike it. You can tell me what is in it, how it works, and how it is packaged; but what it does for you will get the highest ratings for me. (Being new I have been a little liberal on that one so far.)
(2.) If you are the reader, actually read. Please don't just click on the page and give a rating. I may actually have something to say that you may want to hear.
(3.) Rating: Let us not rate a review on if we agree or not. Let's rate on content. Was it well written? Did it make the point? Not everyone is going to agree with everything that I say and that is fine. One of the great freedoms of our country is that we have a right to our views, and if you are from a country that does not allow that--I still am and will rate you with that same fairness.
(4.) If you are going to rate me below a Helpful review, please leave me a note and tell me what I have done wrong and what I can do to improve. I will sure try to listen to any and all advice given.
(5) Comments: If you are going to be constructive, please do it so that we can all learn from it. If you want to slam me please do it in an e-mail.
(6.) Let's not revenge rate. If you rate me low I will do the same kind of thing. If I give you what you think is an unfair rating please let me know and I will give it another look or tell you why I rated the way I did if I had not already.
(7.) If I trust you it is because I believe in your reviews and the quality in which they are written. Again, I will not hold it against you if I do not feel or think the same way that you do.
What this all boils down to:
Highly Recommended: You tell me about the product and what is that makes you like or dislike it.
Recommended: You tell me about the product.
Somewhat Recommended: You mention the product that you are to be writing on but that is about it.
Not Recommended: Off topic.
